Season Ticket Offer at Portsmouth Game
Season Ticket Offer at Portsmouth Game
Tuesday, 22nd Feb 2011 12:49

Town season ticket holders are able to purchase up to four additional tickets at reduced prices for Saturday’s home game against Portsmouth.

The additional tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for senior citizens, students and under-20s and £3 for juniors under-16.

These prices are being offered in all areas of Portman Road (except for corporate hospitality sections), although only adult tickets are available in the Sir Bobby Robson Stand lower tier. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Ticket Office on 0844 80 11 555.

Meanwhile, Town’s home match against Reading, scheduled for Tuesday 8th March, could be postponed if the Royals draw their FA Cup fifth round tie against Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday 1st March. If a replay is required it would be played on day of the Town game.

I ask every season ticket holder to do thier best to sell at least one ticket - that would bring in approximately 13000 supporters!!

Realistically, whilst the take up has been poor in similar past promotions (in my opinion,) we should make a effort to try and sell a ticket or two this time around, in response to the excellent start make by PJ and his team to turn this Club around.

Its good to see the club taking the iniative by doing this. If only attendances would rise so the atmosphere would be better! COYB.

Not another ticket promotion. They pretend it is a bonus for S/T holders but really it is just reducing the average cost to the casual fans and in turn decreasing the relative value of a S/T. No wonder S/T sales are falling year on year. Clegg out.

yes another ticket promotion, i guess thousands of empty seats for another home game is preferable ...

I trust you are not serious tractored.

I want as many supporters attending matches as possible and if it means we have to entice the casuals in with much reduced prices twice a year, then so be it.

Remember a casual supporter may become a regular supporter and in time hopefully a season ticket holder, if the entertainment and excitement is there. Any actions the Club can take to get increase the support is benificial in the short term and may help to increase season ticket holders long term, which is an objective we must all surely share.

You are so right kingkeano! The more people coming throught the turnstiles at Portman Road the better the atmosphere should be. ( In theory at least.)

Just carrying out a mini poll on the forum and I've got 30 plus extra tickets that people have got for friends/family etc! And according to one person they were told to expect a gate in the region of 24,000! Things are looking good! I've sold my 8 !!! :)

Thanks to TWTD for posting this as the club has done very little to promote it. Why not announcement over the speakers at the Hull game, rallying fans to buy tickets? When I bought my four, the website had a Cardiff logo next to the promotion although I note they have now changed that.

I think there should be more such promotions to encourage new people to come to Portman Road, especially at exciting times like these as many of them are going to want to come back and will start buying full price tickets or season tickets. I want to see Portman Road routinely getting 20,000+ crowds again, boosting noise levels and atmosphere for everyone.

Come on everyone - sell your four tickets and let's fill Portman Road for Saturday!

Although it,s good to see the club trying to put more bums on seats, surely a more general offer not related to season tickets would drum up more support in the present economic climate. Charlton sold tickets for £5 for saturdays home game against Exeter & attracted over 24,000. Food for thought.

As much as I would LOVE to see Ipswich play at home, this means I would have to shell out £26! TWENTYSIXPOUNDS! Which is the SBR Lower, my preferable choice, & im 19.

Ridiculous prices which I am not prepared to pay.

In comparison, a standing season ticket at Brussia Dortmund, top of Bundesliga, a standing SEASON TICKET would cost me £152. Works out at £8 a game. BRing back safe standing, Germany has it right, do some research.

I 've got eight ! We need more promotions like this, especially when its the school holidays. Town should have done a kids for a quid against Hull at least or an adult with a kid for a tenner, better than having 10,000 empty seats, as it would help to pay Jimmy B's wages ! Did anyone manage to buy a seat at QpR on the night as I saw lots of people asking and being sent to the ticket office ! Why was it all ticket for us when the bottom tier of our end wasn't full and there were only 16,000 there ???

IP3, Very interesting point, I normally get a student ticket at about £20.50, I haven't been able to afford this for a long time now. I couldn't even afford to witness the Arsenal game which was very disappointing.

They should definitely do more offers, say once a month or something so those of us struggling in these financial times can support their team.

Love the idea of a cheap standing season ticket, for that price it would amazing.
