St Ledger Completes Leicester Move
St Ledger Completes Leicester Move
Monday, 4th Jul 2011 17:51

Town target Sean St Ledger has completed his switch from Preston North End to Leicester City. The 26-year-old has moved for an undisclosed fee believed to be £1.2 million.

The Irish international was the subject of a Blues offer in January and an enquiry earlier this summer.

Elsewhere, Craig Mackail-Smith has completed his move from Peterborough to Brighton, signing a four-year deal.

A while back i would have been really gutted but i trust PJ to find some suitable...

Bet preston wish, with hindsight, they had accepted our bid back in January..

Plenty of other good CB's out there...

Hope we make this signing tomorrow, whoever it is!

Another Leicester signing. They are joint favourites with West Ham to win the league at one bookmaker.

We definitely need another centre back to join Delaney, Ingimarsson and Smith. Hopefully Mr Jewell will find another good value transfer, ideally someone in their early/mid 20s.

Disappointing, but as long as PJ has an equally good replacement lined up then fair enough. We wont be able to only rely on 3 CB's for an entire season. RB also a concern.

Maybe he was worth a punt for that price but haven't got a bad feeling about missing out here - there must be more Jewell's list. Just hope we sign a big player now that our biggest player Wickham's gone - Bullard would be superb, so would Dyer, Gio, Haroun or Nugent.

SSL to Leicester, bit of a shame, however must trust PJ. Why, has CMS gone to Brighton, strange he's turned down bigger clubs.

Yeah, Leicester are buying like crazy. I liked St Ledger so I am disappointed and I don't share that blind believe on PJ. I agree though that there are plenty of other options and hope PJ will do a perfect job as I have to admit he did quite well for the first 4 signings. I am a bit gutted on Mickail-Smith because to me he was e very good option... Happy he opted for Brighton not for Leicester. Does this mean we will have yet another season with League 1 clubs fighting for promotion to Premiership right away? I thought Southamptom maybe the one this time around but now we have Brighton doing good on the transfer market...

Thank goodness for that. I've never seen St Ledger play well and i've been hoping we spend our money elsewhere. CMS has clearly been sold on the Brighton dream. Poyet, Taricco, new stadium, investing in the likes of Will Hoskins and CMS - could be the ones to watch next season.

As for us i think we need 2 midfielders. Hopefully Bullard and Bowyer.

I think perhaps there was more to this than met the eye as we had ample time to get him, I trust jewell, if the deal was right I think we would have done it.

Why do some people think its acceptable to insult on here 'irish twit' by tractorboybig, all big men when not face to face. St Ledger fail is disappointing and Leicester must be selling a dream to be landing all these players, shame.

At that price we could have done the deal if we wanted to.

Accept wages may have been a problem but think if we really wanted St Ledger we would have got him!!

PJ is obviously going for value for money players in terms of transfer fees & wages. And determining also if the potential signings want to play for ITFC or just here for the dosh. Let Sven get on with it at Leicester. Wonder what his player motivational skills are like?!! Let's get behind PJ, he knows what he's doing. Can't wait for the season to start. It's gonna be good. Very good.

It would appear we are not losing players yet that we have put a bid in for to another club. All the players going to leicester are has beens with a has been manager. Not sure I have complete faith in PJ but he has my support and let him get on with it. After all its his head that falls with failure, and another crap season for the supporters wi l just roll on with the rest.

Never mind. Not the 1st and wont be the last player to turn us down. To call the guy an irish twit.No need to put the player or the irish down considering we have had some great irish players ie mr holland , magilton, hunter , o'callaghan to name a few. Sure PJ has things all in hand

Leicester bag another one that we were certain to sign, apparently they hope to get Nugent as well, they are strong favourites for promotion, whereas I just cannot see how we can do much without any midfield and with virtually no pace in the team, Cresswell and Chopra decent signings, not impressed with Ellington, another season in mid table I fear.
