Chopra Set to Be Fine Despite Knock

Striker Michael Chopra is expected to overcome a minor ankle problem in time for Saturday’s trip to Hull City. The Blues' 13-goal top scorer picked up the problem during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton.

Assistant manager Chris Hutchings, who gave this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, said: “We’ve just got Chopra, who is having a little bit of treatment, but he’ll be fit, that isn’t going to be a problem.

“He got a kick on the ankle but he’ll be OK. Apart from that, everybody’s fit and raring to go.”

He says confidence is high: “We’re looking forward to it. We’ve been in very, very good form of late, only one defeat in seven games.

“We’re coming off the back of a good draw down at Southampton, who are riding high at the top of the league. We’re going there full of confidence and looking forward to it.”

Midfielder Jimmy Bullard remains suspended by the club until Friday of next week.

Good that Chops is fit but it is nice to have Jason Scotland around in the case of emergencies!

Pessimistic. Problem is that doesn't Jason have a clause in his contract that if he starts too many more games that invokes a clause in his contract that gives him another year. Whilst i for one would like him to stay i think with the wage cuts that are coming i think he will be on shanks's pony at the end of the season.

footballfriend. You seem to have not noticed Hull have beaten us twice already this season and have the best defence of any team in england so dont go roghting them off because were on a good run because they are too. Were unbeaten in 7 they are in 8 so it will be an interesting game to see how far jewells new look side will perform against a quality Hull side.

True Ryan although they also tend not to score many and draw lots of games.

Could have beaten them in the cup if we hadn't given away silly goals. Now we have stopped the rot things are different and a win is on the cards.

Ryan

I was at the game and I stand by what I said. Sloppy first half play cost us the game. Hull bossed the first half but certainly didn't the second.

At 2-1 with 20 minutes to go Chopra, Carson and Leadbitter (in extra time) had good chances to equalise with Hull hanging on. A breakaway in the last minute of the game made it 3-1 to Hull.
