JET: Fans Shouldn't Be Stressed Over Pre-Season
JET: Fans Shouldn't Be Stressed Over Pre-Season
Monday, 30th Jul 2012 14:10

Town midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has urged fans not to be too stressed about pre-season, despite the Blues having lost 2-0 to Luton on Saturday. The former Arsenal man says he expects “big things” coming Town’s way when the season proper begins.

The 21-year-old said: “This season I can feel big things coming our way #TractorBoyz.”

He added: “Twitter is hilarious the things people say on here lol #Unbelievable.”

“Living outside your means #NotCool,” he continued, presumably making reference to criticism of Town's lack of spending so far this summer.

The former England U17 and U19 international says fans oughtn't to get too concerned over pre-season results: “Some fans worry me, stop stressing over pre-season and f****** support your team properly while we prepare for the start of the season #Mugs”

After some negative comment regarding that tweet, he added: “99% of fans understood the tweet, there’s just 1% that can’t seem to think and just be sensible about it #LeaveItYeah.

“I will soon stop interacting with fans and be like some others ballers and just ignore the tweets I get. And then who will the mugs talk to? lol.”

I for one do not understand why most people seem to have an issue with anyone who makes a negative comment about the club and particularly the quality of the playing staff. People are entitled to an opinion and this is the perfect arena in which to do this. I personally feel the current squad is average at best and we will be lucky to finish anywhere other than our usual mid-table placing. I have said it before and will say it again, only Cresswell and Chopra are of the requisite quality to challenge at the right end of the table. In my humble opinion, if I may be so bold as to offer it, all of the others are pretty mediocre, including Mr Emmanuel-Thomas, who seems concerned by the honest passion that some people have for our wonderful club. Perhaps he, and some of his underachieving teammates should take a leaf out the passion book. They may be surprised at it's results! and no, living outside of your means is not cool 'JET' - What was it we paid for you again?! Come on Fulham, get the cheque book of disillusion out! If not, pass it onto a league 1 side in a couple of years will you?!

Wizard - i regularly have a pop at some of the negative posters on here, but i agree with your first couple of sentences. I and i suspect a lot of others dont object to reasonable criticism when it is justified, the problem on this site IMO is that a group of people have decided that PJ/SC and in some cases ME are not the future of the club (again, no problem with these opinions, and they could prove to be correct) and take any story, even when it is an obvious plus and turn it into a negative, and whether you are a PJ/SC fan or not some of the comments on here regarding them are unfair, totally without basis and downright offensive.
For the record i would add JET and Martin to your duo of Cresswell and Chopra,(hoping that Loach and Chambers maybe too) and JET's comments show that the players do take note of some of these comments and constant negativity for the sake of it in any walk of life can never be helpful.

When I went to watch town. Jet stood out for me. He was one of our better players ! Now get off his back and support him ! Because this sort of arguing and abusing him will drive him away from the club !

Astounded by the number of people saying JET isn't a good player, lazy, doesn't care...

Your Premier League contract got lost in the post did it?

TheWIzardDeVos, great comment, fans are very passionet about the club and if they're concerned about the club they will speak out like they will praise when things are going well. If everyone said positive things then to me that shows we accept being average. JET is a talented player and i rate him, but you have to see this from a fans perspective as well as players. On the flip side no body should abuse JET or anyone else because i think that's when things get to personal and no one needs that, but in this type of arena i think its fine to give your views as long as they're not ..'were going down' or 'our players are terrible' or 'PJ out', comments like that are pointless.
