Town Move for Mohsni
Saturday, 8th Sep 2012 10:18

Town are understood to have approached Southend regarding loaning defender Bilel Mohsni with a view to a permanent deal in January. On Monday, TWTD revealed that the 25-year-old was spending the week on trial with the Blues.

The French-Tunisian put in an assured display and scored a 30-yard second-half strike during yesterday’s 6-0 U21s victory over Cardiff City at Playford Road.

Mohsni has a year left on his contract and although Southend are willing to let him move on, last month they turned down an offer of around £150,000 from West Ham after the versatile Paris-born defender, striker or winger impressed while on trial at Upton Park. The Shrimpers were said to want a significantly higher sum.

Football League clubs are able to sign players on 93-day ‘emergency’ loans from today.

Loan window now open. Wait for the action to start.

Worth bearing in mind that:

Emergency loans last a maximum of 93 days, so any deals done early in the window would run out early in December.

Those players then wouldn't be available to play again until the transfer window opens in January.

Just nervous if he does well without a fee agreed they'll want more money ...and we wont pay it though others will no doubt. Need any potential permanent fees agreed up front else we are wasting our time

Get him signed on loan and agree a fee with him, agent and Southend Utd ready for the transfer window in January. Just what we need a bit of steel.

oh we still havent got a team ready for the season and the itfc saga will drag on no matter how many windows are open.pj should have sat down at the end of last season and known how he wanted in and out,and known the budget he had .theres no excuses for not having a team ready for the season.i know most teams still need some players in but our problem is there since last season..

I went and watched the match yesterday and he was solid, his goal was well deserved... he was strong in the air and he is good at passing it out from the back... I spoke to him and his brother after the match yesterday and he has a great attidude and would love the chance of playing for Ipswich. Common Jewell and Clegg, sort this one out! COYB!

There tends to be an agreement that the loan commences from the first game rather than from when the agreement is made, the player can continue as a 'trialist' until then. It's a way of maximising the 93 days restriction. That would stretch the loan until the Leicester game so he'd miss only two games (unless Southend want to play him over Christmas).

Do not keep moaning about things of which you have no knowledge ! Pj will have set out during the summer to get players in , from a list he would have prepared , but clubs will turn bids down and say players are not for sale , so we would not be told of these . Not every club can get the players they want so do not publicise these bids ! Also if players wanted do not want to come , for whatever reason , that also screws plans ! Think calmly and sensibly before posting a silly moan !

bedsitfc..thanks but what im really saying is we should have budgeted and got the wards and davis in they were clearly jps 1st choices and all 3 of them should have worked what to off load ,to pay for these guys,it had to be money that stopped them coming.because of this were we looking at 4th or 5th choice players who are now been thrown out of their clubs.1 thing that i cant get out of my head is did any 1 at the club ask mr boyd how much money he wanted b4 he traveled to our club 4medical another joke after another.

Clueless just clueless. Of course we knew how much Boyd wanted before the medical, trouble is they then have the medical, and after a chat with the agent the goalposts move slightly. If we learned anything from this transfer window its that we as fans have NO idea what really happens behind the scenes Moutinho to Tottenham, fee agreed, wages agreed, oh wait Porto want a further million, again Tottenham Lloris, spurs changing the fee at the last minute, Berbatov was he on a plane to Florence or visiting Turin. All of these rumours and speculation, but if it happens at the top, it happens in the Championship for sure!

Ridiculous comments mate, the club budgeted for players, but do you really want us to pay over the odds on fees and wages? The club tried to off load dead wood, but who wants to pay for our dead wood, so we were cutting our cloth to get the players we needed. Yes it's still a work in progress, but I think 22 clubs in this division are. We aren't that far off, we need a little defensive cover, most area we seem sweet now.
