Trialist Keeper in U21s Side Facing Barnet Sunday, 30th Sep 2012 09:15 Town's U21s are in action against Barnet at Playford Road this morning (KO 11am). The team includes trialist keeper Rhys Taylor, formerly of Chelsea. Taylor, 22, began his career with the Premier League club but failed to make a senior appearance while at Stamford Bridge. A loan spell at QPR also failed to yield a senior appearance but the 6ft 1in tall Neith-born keeper was a regular for Crewe during a season-long loan at Gresty Road in 2010/11. Last season he made 20 appearances on loan at Rotherham after joining them in January before being released by Chelsea in the summer. In July he spent time on trial with Southend. Taylor has been capped by Wales at U17, U19 and U21 levels and was called into the senior squad once but without making an appearance. The Blues second string will be hoping to bounce back after Monday's 1-0 defeat at Bristol City. U21s: Taylor, Hammond, October, Berkane, Thorsteinsson, Whight, Winter, Kourouma, Marriott, Lawrence, Timlin. Subs: Crowe. Robinson, Willbye, Thompson, Leddy.
