Mohsni Back on Trial as Jewell Targets Two Players
Thursday, 4th Oct 2012 13:05

TWTD understands that Southend defender Bilel Mohsni has returned to Playford Road on trial and is likely to be amongst two players manager Paul Jewell is hoping to sign on loan before Saturday's game against Cardiff.

Jewell said: “There might be a possibility of maybe one or two players coming in [before Saturday]. I know I keep on saying that on Thursday or Friday.

“I know we’ve got a two-week break after Saturday but we’re trying to strengthen the squad.”

The versatile Frenchman, 25, was previously with Town for a week last month but turned down the option to return for a second spell and subsequently spent time with Birmingham.

Last week, Jewell tried to sign QPR striker DJ Campbell on loan as cover for the injured Paul Taylor, but the 30-year-old was expected to join Blackpool, although that move is yet to go through.

totalblue, tractorrog....

dont worry, the noisy minority wont let the facts of the situation and the sentence of only a racing ban he could get if found guilty, get in the way of a good rant at the manager / players / owner / CEO / groundstaff / ballboys / bluey etc etc etc

Why does he need a 2nd trial, is Jewell such a poor judge of player and so unsure of himself he needs to see him in training again?

I don't remember a single PJ press conference where he has not said he's close to a signing or 2 only to look like a complete muppet when we ineveitably sign nobody. Why doesn't he just shut up and do 1?

Get out of our club Jewell!

Its just one thing after another with this club. He needs to go, at the end of the day it must be affecting his form and he is simply not doing the business on the pitch. This man is one of the main faces of Ipswich Town Football Club and its reputation is sinking by day. Clegg must have known about this and continues back his player even though he is clearly dragging the club through the floor. To top it off, Chopra goes on twitter saying the fans don't know what we are talking about and then this comes out!!!! Jesus christ what the hell is going on here.

upthewallpaul - he played one match for us against an U21 side (Cardiff i think) and we won 6-0. PJ said he wanted to see him against better opposition and asked him to stay longer. Moshni said no. He has obviously had second thoughts. Sounds fair enough to me.

If you slip me fifty, I can get my mate at Unibet to fix the odds, by a little corrupt or fraudulent practice, on the "versatile Frenchman" arriving at Town before Saturday. (Only joking!)

Heard to many negatives regarding Moshni although he can apparently play football. Sounds like more baggage to me but hope i'm wrong. We do seem to attract a certain type of player.

"Why does he need a 2nd trial, is Jewell such a poor judge of player and so unsure of himself he needs to see him in training again? "

He doesn't want a 2nd trial - he wanted to see more of him which is the obvious thing to do. Should he just sign players for the heck of it then?

Why do people like you bother?

Last throw of the dice from Mr Jewell. If we don't win Saturday that's one win in 10, 2 in his last 17 matches. That is a pitiful return. The stats don't lie.

Agree with those above who point out Chops is most likely just going to be distracted. Tractorog - he could be barred from race courses, but I guess there's always William Hill or betting online.

But getting back to Mohsni, think he could be good for us. To be fair to Jewell, it sounds like Moshni was a bit too big for his boots. When asked to stay another week, he tossed his curls and walked away. Now it seems the grass is not greener elsewhere. He has had the humility to come back and Jewell has said ok, which is good. But he is likely to be a player that needs careful handling.

Yes, god forbid Chops will be distracted from the devastating run of form he is in. Its like a parrallel universe this site sometimes.

This guy turned us down and wanted to see what else was out there, nothing so has come back with his tail between his legs.

Let's not get too carried away with this Chopra business, it's not new new stuff as in it happened back in 2010

I dont know how other town fans are feeling but I'm actually really angry at the moment, the I have just seen just puts the icing on the cake as to why this club has been suffering for a while, bad discipline and professional players who involved in situations they should be well clear of. Yesterday I tried to shed some light by doing a blog about a player who seems to have a spot on attitude and who gives us a good name. The last thing we need is kind of thing. Anyway...Good luck to Jewell and our lads on Saturday I have a feeling we may get a big result. Good news regarding Mohsni as well, hopefully he understands we're a decent club and I'm sure he would be a real asset, just dont be to much of a nutcase if you join bud, for me.

brockleyblueboy. Not sure how many times I have pointed this out but it IS new stuff. Before he was just a gambling addict, fine and move on but now it has come to light that he is a CHEAT as well.

cornishnick. you can have 5 loan players in your matchday squad(playing/subs). however, loan players from a foreign country dont count, therefore ndaw & murphy can also play making a total of 7. kerryblue. if youre going to write a negative comment about chopra(which this story not about neway), at least get your facts right. £2.5 m debt? no, £250,000. just a bit of a difference.
