Blues Amongst Clubs Eyeing Baxter
Thursday, 18th Oct 2012 22:29

Town, Burnley, Birmingham and Blackpool are reported to be keeping tabs on former Everton man Jose Baxter (left), who joined League One Oldham in the summer.

The 20-year-old former England U16 and U17 international signed a four-month contract at Boundary Park in September after leaving Goodison Park having been released after turning down a new contract on reduced terms.

The striker, a one-time Tranmere loanee, spent time on trial at Crystal Palace in the summer but failed to win a contract due to his lack of fitness.

Since joining the Latics he has made four starts and three sub appearances, scoring twice.

If he lives up to his potential he will turn out to be a very good player.

Was supposedly the next big thing a couple of years ago but he seems to have gone cold.

Would be an interesting signing in January.

Don't know a lot about him. If he is able to convert chances into goals, get him in.

If he's cheap and available with a bit of potential then why not take a punt on him!

Also apparently he was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing while at everton. Was cleared though. Could be a bad egg

Apparently he rejected a contract from Everton because he wanted to get out there and play regular 1st team football....this is the type of player we want, someone who is keen to prove themselves and earn their cash. And about the arrest thing, he wasn't charged.

Remember reading about him last month. Seems quite good and a friend of mine who plays at Oldham says he is capable of doing things at a higher level...

He looks like a midget in that photo. Maybe he can run between defenders legs?

if he wants regular first team football this might not be the best place for him. I mean lets face, Luongo after the first couple of games in my eyes was a nailed on certain starter, now a certain sub. With poor results and a poor points tally and desperation setting in the team is being chopped around after every game, this i feel would not suit him....coyb

Looks just the right height to be a PJ striker. Perm any two from Chopra, Scotland, DJ and Taylor and you've got the shortest front pairing in the division.

SO ,we are interested ,but looking at others also interested,we are going to need something special to lure him to Town, can we do it ? at present i doubt it .I'll be happy as well as surprised if he did join Town.
