Scottish Midfielder Linked Thursday, 31st Jan 2013 19:28
Scottish sources are linking Town with St Mirren midfielder Kenny McLean. A Championship club is understood to have made a verbal offer to the SPL side today with the Blues claimed to have been the interested party.
Town and Nottingham Forest were reported to have watched the 21-year-old in action before Christmas, prior to the central or left-sided midfielder undergoing minor knee surgery from which he returned last night.
However, even if Town were the Championship club who made the approach regarding McLean earlier today, it seems highly unlikely that there would be time for the formalities relating to the move to take place before tonight’s deadline with the player believed to still be in Scotland.
Scotland U19 and U21 international McLean, who started his career with his current club but spent time on loan at Arbroath in 2010, is contracted for a further 18 months.
For goodness sake what the hell are this club doing they need wingers and attacking midfielder why on earth are they not getting them instead of being linked with all and sundry . ITFC are going one way DOWN
Bluemikey100 assume you have only just started following ITFC becausein RK's time at the club we had David and Colin Healy, Brian and Daryl Murphy and David and Richard Wright at the club at the same time thats confusing!
Well wikipedia is complimentary of him, though I have to admit to not knowing him before. Appears he has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, seems like it probably isn't going to transpire. Still would have been (would be - fingers crossed) if we swooped and signed Forrester, bring McLean as well and could be interesting.
Not wishing to start a personal vendetta here, but bluey123, when was the last time you enjoyed anything to do with football? Any story about anything, I see your name and I know it's going to be a negative post. How can you possibly create a moan out of this story? And I've spent 10 minutes wondering whether or not to send this, because I don't want to be wasting everybody's time with negative posts. But then I had a quick look back at yours and thought, well, in comparison nobody can accuse me of being - I keep repeating this word - negative! I love my football team! COYB! And 50p to the first person who accuses me of being negative
