Town Drop to 20th
Tuesday, 26th Feb 2013 22:11

Town dropped to 20th in the Championship this evening after their weekend opponents Huddersfield - who are up to 18th - beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor. The Blues remain four points from the drop zone on 39.

There was better news for Town at the Reebok Stadium where Bolton, who are now up to 10th having been in the relegation battle themselves only a matter of weeks ago, beat table-proppers Peterborough United 1-0.

Elsewhere, Leicester City, who are at Portman Road on Saturday, beat Blackburn 3-0 at home having previously gone four games without a win.

On the loan front, Jack Ainsley made his debut alongside fellow Town man Joe Whight as Blue Square Bet South side Chelmsford City lost 2-0 at Bromley.

In League Two, Ronan Murray played the full 90 minutes as his Plymouth side drew 1-1 at AFC Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, the club site has photos of the first team squad during today’s bonding trip to Tendring in Essex for a spot of paintballing.

h32 you're like a guy standing beside a house thats on fire with a water hose 5 yards away from you, but you're just throwing your hands in the air and saying "fcuk it, the fire is too big, it's not worth the effort of using the hose".
My weird and ridiculous metaphor is meant to highlight the fact that there are too many fans of Ipswich who would prefer to add to the negative tension around the club rather than doing something more positive - the positive thing we fans can do is stop saying the place is doomed to burn down, our actions (support and encouragement) can actually save our skins and help the management and team climb to safety.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!

If we were to go down would mick go.
im quite happy with his style if it keeps us up but if we go down the club will be at a crossroads. We would have the chance to rebuild the whole ethos of the club with a youger up and coming manager implementing a more fluid passing style and work with a tighter but young and hungary squad with a scattering of senior players.playing this way and winning in L1 i think people would still come to watch that.,
Still think mick can keep us up COYB

Can we get this headline shifted soon... it's just depressing now that when you log on to TWTD you're greeted with TOWN DROP TO 20th (especially as the story was posted 2 days ago now). Haven't we got anything positive to make the main story on the website????

As I posted a couple of weeks ago, we need an average of just over 1 point per game from here on in, and it'll come down to the last 2 games of the season to see whether ITFC survive the drop zone

Dear Phil,

Any chance of this two day old 'story' doing one as its a bit depressing. We need support to be roused not doused!

This story has been on here since Tuesday. Has nothing happened? Did they all get lost on the paintballing day? Have we been relegated already?

Where is the Cresswell/Edwards/Drury says no panic in dressing room/we'll stay up/fight on article?

bohslegend - I think the plus's you have generated with your last post - PROVES MY POINT PERFECTLY - far too many ITFC supporters are basically 'accepting losers'. Sad but True - like it, or not.

THANKFULLY , not all of us choose to be amongst that category. And long may that continue.

..... don't forget the minus button - all those I refer to in my previous post. Only serve to prove the point once again.

h32, no again you are wrong. Are you a fan of Ipswich Town regardless of the manager or how the team is performing, or are you a simple critic of the club.
Another question: what is your favourite colour? Might give us a true indication of your motives.

bohslegend - obviously NOT at all like you,THANKFULLY.

And I just wonder if ITFC have had as much out of your pocket, as they have mine over a period of 40+ years ????? - I DOUBT IT, VERY MUCH - but of course you could prove otherwise !!!

So I think I've somewhat bought an opinion - which I am entitled to - and the colour.

H32 it's "support" like yours the club can do without.
