Taylor and Hyam Doubts
Thursday, 28th Nov 2013 15:31

Boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that striker Paul Taylor and midfielder Luke Hyam are both doubts ahead of Saturday’s game at Charlton. Better news is that left-back Aaron Cresswell is back from his suspension.

McCarthy says Taylor suffered the knock in a collision with Marcin Wasilewski after coming on as a sub during last week’s 2-1 defeat.

“Paul Taylor’s got a sore shoulder, he got clattered in the Leicester game and it affected him in the last 10 minutes," he said.

"And Luke Hyam’s got a stiff back. I’m hoping they’ll both be OK, but they didn’t train today.”

Despite impressing his boss, left-back Tyrone Mings will make way for Cresswell, who is available after completing his two-match ban.

It's good Cressy is back but as our wingers were so poor against Leicester, can we not play Mings at LB and push Cressy into left midfield ??

Farmer, personally I don't think Cresswell would be anywhere near as effective at left midfield as he won't get nearly as much space to deliver crosses etc, I think it's perfect chance to give our new lad a go!

ah! that leaves the door open to keep those creative dynamo's of Tabb and Anderson in, if their still not fit by Saturday I can hardly see Mick panicking.

Taylor's injury was obvious, such a shame because he was the only one looking likely to do anything, which he did setting up Chambers. Hope he's fit and starts, but I won't hold my breath.

I think Mings has been more than an able cover but we did miss Cressy's attacking threat while he was away. As much as i Like Mings, it really is a no brainer to put Cresswell back in.

Should be a good atmosphere tomorrow, i literally cant wait. Hopefully the 2500 or so of us should inspire the lads onto a result! COYB's
