Boss Watches Marriott and Woking Win Tuesday, 10th Dec 2013 22:11 Town boss Mick McCarthy was amongst those watching Jack Marriott help his loan club Woking to a 1-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers at the Kingfield Stadium this evening.
For once the 19-year-old, who scored a hat-trick at the weekend, wasn't on target with former Cambridge and Peterborough striker Scott Rendell netting the winner in the 64th minute.
Marriott, who was subbed in the 85th minute, has scored seven goals in six matches while on loan and is due to stay with the Cards until January 2nd.
The academy product has agreed a new contract with his previous terms up at the end of the season.

Watching Jack or another player?

Arnie M - I'm fairly sure Phil posted a story quoting Mick saying that he'd be going to watch Jack play. Woking's not a million miles from Bromley where Mick lives. Good that he's keeping an eye on him and no harm him in checking out other talent on show. We're a club of slender means these days and we've got to pick up talent wherever we can. Plus Mick's got a good track record of signing and developing amateur / semi-pro players. Despite the doubters on here, I think Tyrone Mings is a good prospect.

I was there - and it was a freezing and foggy night. Bumped into Mick - who looks very thin and gaunt now ! Unfortunately Jack had a bit of a shocker to be honest - didn't get much service but had a great chance to head the opener and headed straight at keeper and then had 2 good chances in the 2nd half - first choosing to pass when he could have scored and secondly when his touch let him down. Looked like he was trying very hard to impress Mick and it just didn't come off - but his touch was wayward all night Apparently he trains with town all week and just comes to woking pre games ? Met a fellow Ipswich fan at the game who shared that with me ! Don't think mick will have been wildly impressed with what he saw unfortunately - by some distance his least impressive outing - but hopefully young jack will learn from this

Wallingford I've asked but not been confirmed. I think Mick jumped the gun when he said he'd signed at the weekend. It's been agreed from what I gather but they'll not give us the details until pen has formally been put to paper.
