Veseli Joins Bury on Loan
Tuesday, 31st Dec 2013 16:01

Summer signing Frederic Veseli is joining League Two Bury on a month’s loan.

The 21-year-old Swiss U21 international defender or midfielder has made little impact since signing a two-year deal with an option for a third season following a trial during the close season, having been released by Manchester United.

Previously with Manchester City, hometown club Renens and Lausanne-Sport, Veseli’s only first team appearance for Town was a start in the 2-0 Capital One Cup defeat at Stevenage, although he has been on the bench on a number of occasions.

Veseli is expected to make his Shakers debut when they take on Hartlepool at Victoria Park on New Year's Day.

Well you can't get much lower than Bury in the FL.

The only way is up now Fred.

Had high hopes when he signed, hopefully this will help him kick on and make the impact his pedigree shows.

Looks increasing like he's not going to make it at a decent level must have showed early promise as a teenager but at 21 being loaned to bury ain't looking good for the lad

I'd almost forgotten about him! It's disappointing that an U21 international who was at Man Utd has made so little impact at ITFC, but then again it is a tough job to get in our defence which is doing so well at the moment. Chambers and Hewitt both ahead of Veseli, and probably even Edwards would be chosen there ahead of him

Lets hope that competitive football is what he needs to kick-start his career. As good as Chambers is considering it's not his position, we still need a "proper" right back for me.

....... shame because he is a much better player than this move indicates - he really should be in the reckoning here, especially when we are still playing square pegs in round holes to some degree, and riding our luck somewhat.
Quality player who will make it elsewhere unfortunately.

Got a feeling that with Veseli and Hewitt going out on loan that MM is gonna sign a r/b on loan or permanently this transfer window....Christie from Coventry??

This is a great move to see what Veseli is made of and whether he can cope in a scrappy and tough lower league. I don't get all this negativity in this thread regarding loans, I think his performances it will either make or break his Town career, and the best of luck to him.

Have to admit I'd forgotten about him as well - now going out to Bury on loan, surely that's a step to low? obviously talent there as you don't play for Man City/Utd by mistake so let's hope it kick starts him.

Looked a bit shaky at Stevenage, so this will hopefully see him come back fighting. May be worth seeing his midfield offering if we're in a position to shake things up a bit towards end of season.

Its dificult to get in the the starting lineup in our defence. Strongest part of the team. He may come back and have a career here!
