Hunt Could Be Out for the Season
Friday, 20th Feb 2015 11:02

Town striker Noel Hunt is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks with the medial knee ligament injury he suffered at Fulham last week.

Hunt, 32, fell awkwardly during the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-1 win at Craven Cottage and left the field on a stretcher.

If the Irish international is out for the full 12 weeks that would rule him out for the rest of the regular season.

Hunt, who joined on a contract until the end of the season in January after being released by Leeds, following a loan spell at the end of last year, has scored three goals in four starts and eight sub appearances for the Blues.

Town are expected to confirm the signing of Blackburn frontman Luke Varney on loan as cover while Hunt is sidelined.

Hopefully makes a speedy recovery and comeback like he did in his debut after being down and out.

Poor fella, on a personal level you've got to really feel for him. He's desperate to just play football and he's not had a lot of luck over the past few years. Also puts into perspective why his brother got upset with a few twitter morons.

All the best for a speedy recovery Noel.

Get well soon Noel. Decent player, very good in the air & 110 percent effort. Will be a miss.

So I take it Varney is on loan now to replace Hunt?...still looking for this quality emergency loan signing we desperately need, out on the wing and in the centre.

12 weeks for a medial knee injury?! That must be pretty bad then, 6 weeks is standard.

Should have used the transfer window....for what? People available for transfer are not playing at their parent clubs. Why would they want to come to a club where they will be cover - and not play? You have to go down a level in quality to get someone who will come under those circumstances. It's really simple if you think about it.
