Town Announce Season Ticket Price Rise
Friday, 6th Mar 2015 14:29

Town have announced a 3% rise in the cost of season tickets for the 2015/16 season but if purchased before the early bird deadline the price will be the same whether the Blues are in the Championship or the Premier League.

A lower tier Sir Bobby Robson Stand or Sir Alf Ramsey Stand adult ticket, for example, will cost £411 if purchased before the early bird deadline of 5.15pm on April 3rd. For 2014/15 the same ticket cost £399.

No season tickets will then be sold after the early bird deadline until it’s known whether the Blues will be in the Premier League next season, in which case season tickets will then be priced at a Premier League rate.

Matchday ticket prices will - except for some premium tickets - be frozen if Town remain in the Championship.

The club will continue to run the interest-free direct debit scheme for season ticket sales with those currently on the scheme having their season tickets renewed automatically. The under-11 season ticket will stay at £10.

The Blues are also offering those who buy their season tickets ahead of the early bird deadline and sign up to become an Ipswich Town Academy Friend for 2015/16 and 2016/17 the chance to qualify for a free Premier League season ticket for 2016/17.

Renewal packs will start to be sent out to existing season ticket holders in the week commencing March 9th with renewals and new sales available online via ITFC Direct later today. Full details on the club site.

Sounds fair to me

No small print this year that you automatically donate £100 a month to Marcus Evans Bermudan off shore account unless you tick a hidden box ?

May be being slow on the uptake but what is the "Maximum Benefit Saving"?

For example £233.54 on a Upper SBR/SAR ticket

Nice of them to not increase my ST if we go up and I buy before the deadline.

There'll be 3 less home games if we're in the Plastic League.

Great.

3 fewer games, but wouldn't you prefer to see Chelsea, Man U, Man C, Arsenal, Spurs... at PR than Rotherham, Millwall or Blackpool?

don't want to be negative, so I better shut up now.......

Excellent value compared to some in this division. £10 on a ST for most is fair enough

4 fewer games not 3. :-)

Disappointing. Don't agree with the rise. Many clubs freeze them.

I totally understand with the need to put season tickets up with inflation, but a 3% rise is six times inflation (0.5%).

What timing for the announcement too with us all feeling so low.

I understand if we get promoted we'll be getting better entertainment (though actually that falls down when you consider that actually we'll get to see better players beat us most weeks) but seeing as the income from promotion is absolutely vast why does the club feel the need to sting the fans? the extra income from tickets will be a drop in the ocean to the premier league money, so why not leave us alone?

PutneyBlue: would you rather see your team win 80% of their games or lose 80%?

Yes, we see good teams play us but most will beat us - let's be realistic. So, as we also get 4 fewer games, I can't see any reason to charge more for Premier league. We're already charging more than some Premier league teams do anyway.

What annoys me about this is there will be a 3% rise for season ticket holders, but if the club are struggling to attract other fans they will offer £10 tickets or other special offers. I do wonder if the club repays loyalty......

runningout, you and me both. But I have to say an increase on top of what we are paying now, just to watch more hoofball.

An increase in the price to watch hoofball..no thanks. We're not going up..unlike the ball being punted by our players under MM's all-conquering style

But Town have agreed that 3% more passes will go along the deck rather than bypassing the midfield and into row D on various stands.

......... what a time to announce such news ? - bet everyone can't wait to renew.

After all, everyone should be totally engrossed with our style of entertaining hoofball by now - and know no better.

Equally, some wouldn't notice, or know, of any difference.

.......... with the entertainment level as it is ........... taking people for MUGS springs to mind.

I think it's an absolute gaff to announce that right now.

Sorry but this just shows the mentality of some of our fans. Questioning the timing of this announcement? Season ticket announcements are made at this time every year. The club aren't gonna say just because we lost a few games they're gonna put off announcing it. As for the increase, £12 a season isn't anything to complain about. About 50p a match. Only thing I'm dubious about is that those buying after the early bird deadline are going to he paying premier lge prices regardless of which division we are in. That I feel could be a big mistake.
