Draws for Play-Off Rivals
Saturday, 18th Apr 2015 17:21

Sixth-placed Town’s situation is effectively where it was this morning following draws in all today's fixtures involving the sides battling the Blues for the final play-off places, but now with only two games to play.

Following Town’s 1-1 lunchtime draw at Wolves, seventh-placed Brentford also gained a point from their 2-2 home draw with Bolton and are three points behind the Blues with a goal difference inferior by four. Wolves are eighth with a goal difference seven worse than Town's.

Fifth-placed Derby drew 4-4 at Huddersfield to restore their one-point lead on the Blues with their goal difference better than Town's by 14.

Elsewhere at the top of the division, Watford beat Birmingham 1-0 at Vicarage Road to reclaim top spot, while AFC Bournemouth drew 2-2 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and are second.

We are now much better placed than we were at the start of the day. A very tricky game with ir rivals Wolves is now out of the way (with no damage done) and all teams have just six points to play for instead of nine. That is a big factor in our favour.

It is definately ours to throw away now. A win next week is an absolute must, so I hope we get as many fans in the ground as possible to cheer on our lads.

At first glance it seems our remaining fixtures are tougher, however, Wolves and Brentford are fighting against teams in relegation spots- so you never know. 3 points next game would be massive, we just gotta dig in and graft

With the 3 point gap and goal difference in our favour, 1 win should be enough to see us finish in the top 6. Need to win saturday, especially as we're at home as Blackburn away will be no picnic

A win and a draw required. Achievable.

Nothing wrong with the point today. Could've been better but could've been worse and the draws for both brentford and derby have kept it in our hands. Play to our strengths against both forest and Blackburn and there's no reason why we can't make the playoffs

A win and a draw would be better but a win alone could be enough, as long as we maintain our GD gap over Brentford.
Another 'must win' game next w/e. Anything other than a win would be too much for the nerves. Going to Blackburn for a win would be agonising.

We are in with an excellent chance of getting top 6 now and a win against Forest will be enough considering our superior goal difference. As other posters have mentioned it will be nice to finish it before going to Blackburn
