Duo Miss Out on Awards
Friday, 4th Sep 2015 06:15

Town duo Mick McCarthy and Ryan Fraser have missed out on being named Sky Bet’s Manager and Player of the Month for August.

McCarthy and Fraser were nominated in their respective categories, however, Brighton pair Chris Hughton and Kazenga LuaLua carried off the gongs.

Hughton’s Seagulls beat the Blues 3-2 at Portman Road on Saturday to replace them at the top of the table with LuaLua - who has scored four goals already this season - netting the first and creating the third.

Happy for us to have a manager and players being nominated for these awards, whether or not they win them, as it shows we must be doing alright. The occasional win would be nice as well for them, but even the nominations are a nice change from what went before Sir Mick's time at the club...

As far as I'm aware both Fraser and Maitland-Niles have no recall clauses so are effectively are our players for a season. The Premier league teams just named their squads and I don't think they are allowed to add any players until the next transfer window.
It was really bad to hear that news for Mings. I really wanted to see him get his chance this season. In all likelihood he won't be a Premier League player next year, so that is a real shame for him.

No recalls in season-long loans. The only exception is when they're youth loans, which they're not.

Hopefully the awards put the kiss of death on Brighton's results.

The price may be going up,
but you should delete all cookies after visiting hotel sites as they use these when you revisit them to check prices, to put pressure on you to book before they go up any more......... so I've been told!

Good for us. Now we can get on with the season. Hughton and Lua Lua deserve the honours. Lua Lua also for showing us and Emmanuel particularly that you need a bit of muscle too in defence. Dare I say it but it was probably good to get the first out of the way.

Shows how Ipswich are improving.
19th this time last year, nominations for player and manager of the month already;and the list of players on international call ups continue to grow, although three were not able to go.

No disrespect guys, but excellent news! No, seriously congratulations to both for being nominated, but no surprise at the winners. Deserved.
