Pringle Loan Extension Confirmed
Thursday, 24th Mar 2016 11:00

Town have confirmed that Ben Pringle’s loan has been extended into its third month.

Speaking at the start of the Fulham midfielder’s second month with the Blues, manager Mick McCarthy explained the situation.

“It was always taken that we’re taking him to the end of the season but that we can have a break in an emergency loan,” he said.

We understand that the breaks have allowed the 93-day loan to stretch to allow the 26-year-old to play for the Blues in the play-off semi-finals if they make them but not the final on Saturday 28th May.

It Would Be Great If We Could Sign Him Permanently

Great news. With Feeney and Pringle on the wings we should start getting balls up to the strikers as long at the defenders pass on the ground to them!

Just a shame they didn't start until after half time last week. Then Mick decided that when they were both playing together, they should switch from left to right against Rotherham. Feeney wasn't nearly so effective on the left!

Been good to date. No Idea why he didn't start Saturday!

I was hoping we would see Pringle as a permanent summer signing, but maybe not after he was left on the bench home to Rotherham. Ben must have been wondering what more he needs to do to start after his recent good performances and goals! (a rarity from ITFC midfielders of late)

Thank Crunchie for that! Now all he has to do is get in the team from the start!

Bluebelll

I fully agree. I'd like to see us go back to a 4-4-2 with Pringle left, Feeney right, Bru and Skuse in the middle, Sears and Murph up front. Balanced team with everyone in their natural positions.

He wasn't picked. I hope that gives you an idea as to why he didn't start.

Well, let's just hope MM will play him. Both him and Feeney on either wing with Sears And Murphy up front will do and Scuse and Foley in the middle.Sh@t or bust now.Nothing else will do so might as well go for broke. It's either 6th or 10th. 👍

Elto, well done.I gather from your brief post, that you are quite happy with what you are seeing at Portman Rd and elsewhere, and have no comment to make on the extension of Ben Pringles loan;which most of us agree is a good thing.

McCarthy has the players to make a late pitch for the play-offs even now;but his ultra defensive neutralizing outlook doesn't allow his players to express themselves;if he puts them in the team that is.

Frans Thijssen has said(EADT 24 March) the functional, physical and directfootball he witnessed in the dull 1-0 defeat on Saturday after the players reunion dinner, was a world away from the football philosophy of his days at Ipswich.

He went on to say that he was a little disappointed, even though he had been warned not to expect too much in terms of style;and that neither he,Arnold,Eric Gates or Alan Brazil would fit into this team.

He also said Liam Feeney was the only player he really liked ,and he understood why Tommy Oar,who played in Holland, didn't get in the team.

Says it all about the Dinosaur's outlook on the beautiful game!Sad.

Seasider, if you read the article again you'll see he was criticizing the style of football played in the whole division, not just by Ipswich.

I like the fact we have him on a longer loan.I think he is neat and tidy player.I agree with earlier comment when he came on and switched with Feeney it didn't work.I don't see what it's all about this cutting inside on their stronger foot?Ronaldo maybe but our standard of winger never gonna do that (Frauser I excpet but not ours). So play them on their best side get to the byline and cross for Murphy. All they do on weaker foot is cross from too deep and are in swinger that the keeper can challenge for.Mm get the basics right then and only then try this swiping wing stuff.Feemey no where near as effective on Saturday after a bright first few seconds minutes winning corner after corner

Nice to see our bench having good players on it!! Why does MM want these players like Bru and Feeney, oh because they will give the ball to the strikers and we don't want that do we MM, so that's why he leaves them on the bench.

Ditto Seasider!

Another fine post .... and ehhhh speaking of the Seaside .... and what your particular moniker ALSO springs to mind :-) ... hmmm here's is one of many imho pretty wonderful ol' classic 50's UK "saucy" seaside postcard (Of which from the early 1950s to the early 1960s tens of thousands deemed "offensive" were actually destroyed/ or seized, as part of the then government's aggressive anti-obscenity campaign!):

LOL! Happy Easter Holidays everyone!
