Debutant McDonnell One of Three Changes
Saturday, 7th May 2016 11:46

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made three changes to his side ahead of this afternoon’s final game of the season at Derby with midfielder Adam McDonnell handed his league debut, skipper Luke Chambers returning at right-back and Bartosz Bialkowski back in goal.

Irish U18 international McDonnell looks set to line-up alongside Cole Skuse in one of the deeper midfield roles with Teddy Bishop starting his second game of the season ahead of them.

Myles Kenlock is again at left-back with Jonas Knudsen still out with a knee injury. David McGoldrick will again be the central striker with Liam Feeney and Freddie Sears on either flank.

Derby, who are already definitely in the play-offs, name an unchanged team.

Derby County: Carson, Christie, Keogh (c), Shackell, Olsson, Thorne, Bryson, Hughes, Ince, Russell, Martin. Subs: Mitchell, Buxton, Hendrick, Bent, Butterfield, Blackman, Weimann.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Smith, Berra, Kenlock, Skuse, McDonnell, Bishop, Feeney, Sears, McGoldrick. Subs: Gerken, Digby, Hyam, Foley, Douglas, Varney, Pitman. Referee: Tim Robinson (West Sussex).

McDonnell Bishop Sears Feeney McGoldrick. Wish I was there, seems we're out to play an expansive game!

Emmanuel dropped after last week. Unbelievable. Met five guys last night who are not renewing but will go to watch a variety of other games. They are just fed watching our style of play and the fact that Emmanuel played well and Chambers comes straight back in to hoof it out of play just sums up MM and his tactics.

I hope we dont see Chambers at right back again all next season, last week showed how well having 2 full backs makes a massive difference with Kenlock and Emmanual playing big parts in all the goals. Maybe next year will be different with a lot of youngsters who are looking to better themselves with promotion, Still unsure on Feeney, love Sears but not as a wide man, if you could get a couple of decent wingers, that team would smash the league

And where's Bru? Would rather see Skuse make way.

Beggars belief that Emmanuel isn't playing....perfect time to blood our youngsters and play them in their right position. No doubt we will be in for a defensive formation on the field trying to salvage a point. My money is on 75 minutes passing we put in our first attack.......

Strong team, but bench looking weaker again. Derby are missing players but look very strong in all areas.

Nothing much to play for in this one.

Nice line-up, just a bit stunned to see no Emmanuel and Bru, who were stand-out performers last week. Bru surely injured, as not even on the bench - whereas those two total wastes of space - Hyam and Douglas - are.

Whoops-I suppose Chambers had to come back as captain;but like several don't want to see him there next year, and feel sorry for Emmanuel.

Also concerned that several of his favorites are now over 30,so at what stage will the Manager feel that they are not good enough or young enough to play every game.

Hope it is next season;but wont hold my breath.

Interesting Feeney starts but Pringle nowhere to be seem. Looks like Feeney might be offered something and Pringle going elsewhere (or back to Fulham)
