Whilst I think that MM is doing an OK job, DJ Campbell was one of the main reasons for our revival and it is clear that we are now really missing him up top. Without his goals we would not have lifted ourselves out of the relegation zone and now that we dont have his goals we are heading back into it. I agree that our wingers are not great but I think that our strikers are not great either. I hope that I am wrong with them and that they turn out well, I really do but I am not convinved at the moment. We really should have won this game and the game against Barnsley and 1 point out of 6 is just not good enough from those games. Come on MM and the boys - we can do better than this! |

For heaven sake, it is a football team doing badly. I am sure things will improve. In the meantime there are far more important things in life to be worried about |

Get him in if it is a season long loan (and not short term). His conmtract expires at the end of the season and Arsenal dont want him - he could be one for the long term |

I agree JimBaxter - I am not quite sure what everyone is expecting here and the response to a proven manager (who was being tipped for England at one stage) does suprise me. It strikes me that there are pros and cons with this. Yes, he has been out of the game for a while but I do think that he would bring stability to the club, which I think is what we need at the moment. It would be a real risk bringing in a young manager unproven at this level. I also think that Curbs would be able to attract players to the club more than an unheard of manager. I would be happy either way and would get behind whoever was appointted. However, for everyone that does want an unproven, young manager at the helm, I would urge that you give him at least two/three years grace before calling for their head if his impact is not immediate (even if this means dropping down a division for a season or two). |

Can somebody please give some examples of "young, hungry managers" that they have in mind for us? I think people are taking this saying too far and are not really thinking about it. Roy Keane was a "young, hungry" manager and look what happened there. I am not saying that Curbs is the right man or not but lets not all jump on the bandwagon. |

Unfortunately this just shows that PJ has got no intention of building a team for the future. He is after a quick fix to save his job and to make sure that he doesnt suffer the humiliation of relegation this season. If we are to go up we need a balanced team of youth and experienced that are fundamentally each committed to the club and its interests. We need to stop tinkering with the team and establish a continuity with the players that we have. If this takes one or two more years in the division then fair enough but what we are doing at the moment seems to be destroying the club and getting us nowhere. |

good news but I do think that we need to tie decent young players down to slightly longer deals. the danger is that they have a good season either this year or next and then we lose them for nothing. |
