They’ve just tried to use a clever play on words, but it’s inaccurate.

Good points about some of Leeds recent results.

I know the stats about “havent won at xxxxxx for xx years” often don’t mean a lot, but sometimes they do. The tight pitch at Loftus Road won’t/doesn’t suit Leeds, so I’m obviously really hoping they struggle like hell and it’s a 0-0 or 1-0 to QPR.

I’m in Thailand, 6 hours ahead, so just coming up to midnight. I’m going to try and sleep through it, but I’m sure I’ll wake up and check the score.

Same issue tomorrow night too of course. Really don’t know if I can stand the stress to watch us live at 2 am. Will decide tomorrow as if Leeds lose or draw it’ll be much less stressful.

1 year ago today was a very quiet evening
at 17:15 25 Apr 2024

It was the night I flew back from Thailand for a 2 week visit. I had a 9 am flight from Bangkok but live a 90 minute cab ride from the airport. Because of the time difference I could watch the first part of the first half on iFollow in my condo then my cab arrived. We were 1-0 up when I left my condo, after about a mile in the cab I got the notification of 2-0, then 3-0 before arriving at the airport.

Just brilliant and I celebrated with champers in the airline lounge. 😁

Being back meant I made the Exeter game, which will live in my memory for ever.

Not good noises coming out of the Coventry camp

In answer to your final para, possibly both.

We get assholes from other clubs coming on here who deserve no respect. This poster came in peace, being open and honest, which does deserve respect.

People read posts differently, there’s often a degree of interpretation and for me yours came across as unnecessarily derogatory towards a friendly fan from an upcoming opponent, a club that’s really been through the quagmire over recent years. I give them huge credit to be where they are now.

Best just leave it at that. No doubt we’re all pulling for our boys to come through on the right side of this from the ITFC point of view.

Err, for me, that’s exactly what you did in your original post and now done it again.

Sorry, I just don’t get derogatory posts like that when an oppo fan comes in peace. We all saw the goals from last night, no need to rub it in, twice.

And biggest game of the season? I’d have thought the semi was bigger and they deserve huge respect for coming back like they did, with I’m sure huge swathes of the country willing them to ultimately beat Man U.

Any idea why nobody has responded to your post?

We have a friendly Coventry fan come on here and make some good posts. He/she should be treated with respect, as every other respondent has done and the way it should be.

Perfect from an ITFC viewpoint

Personally I think the Coventry players will feel exhilarated after that performance. They took Man Utd all the way, outplayed them for the last half hour of normal time.

If that doesn't give them confidence I don't know what will.

Sure, they'll be disappointed at going out and for that last gasp "goal" to be ruled out, but they'll be thinking they can cut it in the Prem and go all out to win their remaining league games.

There may be some tiredness when they play Hull on Wednesday but by the time they play us, particularly if they pick up 2 good results beforehand, they'll be really up for it against us, unless Norwich and WBA have made it impossible for them to make 5th or 6th.

KM and the players will not think about any of that. They'll just prepare as they always do for each game.

For me it's:-

Prem - Brighton and Brentford (well run and honest football clubs)
Also Spurs but only because of Jimmy Greaves, who was my hero as a kid.

Championship - Plymouth (always had respect for them, even more after last season)
Middlesbrough - Steve Gibson, top owner

League 1 - Barnsley (as others have said, real class at the play off final)

League 2 - Crewe (done so well to survive)

Scotland
Aberdeen (from Alex Ferguson's time there)
East Stirling (not sure if they're still in existence. Always the strugglers.

I don’t think you can determine what the biggest match is, as the next biggest match depends how results pan out.

The biggest match right now is Leicester v WBA, cos it kicks off first. That result could change our thinking. Then it’s Cardiff v Southampton, which again will possibly change the permutations and therefore our thinking. Then Borough v Leeds, ditto.

Let’s say, for example, the results are:-

Cardiff 2 Southampton 1
Leicester 1 WBA 1
Middlesbrough 2 Leeds 0

Does that really change our thinking or tactics for our game at Hull?

In my opinion, no. While I can’t say I know KM, I feel pretty sure he’ll never set us out to play for a draw, and certainly not for a loss. He’ll set us up to try and win at Hull and also at Coventry. Our players know no other way.

So, for me, the importance of other results is irrelevant. We’re in the driving seat and even now we know what we have to do as it’s in our own hands. Even if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t change how KM sets us up for any of our last 3 games.

Bricking it about the Hull game
at 16:05 18 Apr 2024

You’re not taking into account our usual bounce back ability.

Kieran will do his usual, one game at a time. What happened 3 games ago won’t come into the equation.

In the game v Hull itself, right now we don’t know how they will stand when that game kicks off. They might be out of the playoffs altogether, still have a remote chance or still be in the thick of it. Both their results and Norwich/WBA results will determine that. They play Watford away and Coventry away before they play us, not easy. Norwich play Bristol City and Swansea at home and WBA play Leicester away and Sheffield Wed away before Hull v Ipswich kick off. Still too many permutations to compute how Hull will be feeling when our game kicks off.

For us, that’s an advantage, as we won’t have kicked a ball in all that time/activity and KM will have drilled into our boys the game plan for 2 solid weeks.

My only worry is our away form in general against the top 11 teams as the table stands, which is 2 wins,1 draw and 5 defeats, with Hull and Coventry to play. The 2 wins v Southampton and Bristol City, both 0-1’s, were early in the season too.

It’s all up in the air and fine margins will determine how the top 4 order pans out. It’s both exciting and nail biting.

Personally, I’m a nervous wreck, while praying KM can get us over the line, by hook or by crook.

I can’t handle Clinton Morrison either. Hardly understand anything he says, he talks at the speed of light and like a very pissed 90 year old with the vocabulary of a 5 year old.

Can’t understand that Kris Boyd either.

I think Sky feel sorry for Merson, as do I
to a certain extent, but he’s next to useless.

Maybe I’m just an old git not liking change, but I’d bring back Le Tiss, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas. With Geoff Snelling that was a hugely enjoyable Saturday afternoon when not going to a game.

A big difference between Chelsea and Ipswich . .

Not from what I saw from the stand . .

And Chaplin also applauded and encouraged Al Hamadi before he took it and the players celebrated with him. Only Gallagher congratulated Palmer.

If I saw it wrong, my bad, but my point still stands about how together we are compared to Chelsea.

Yes, totally agree with this.

In the scenario I painted, if that happens or if we need to win the last game to 100% secure autos, I so, so, so hope Huddersfield don’t need a point to guarantee survival, so we get the low block, park the bus . . 😩

Conor Chaplin gave the ball to Al Hamadi for the penalty at Millwall when the game was already won.

Chelsea players openly scrapping with Cole Palmer, the designated penalty taker and the player who won the penalty, to take the ball off him, when the game was already won.

A knitted, cohesive and together team v a bunch of prima donna individuals.

That’s not the scenario I painted, is it?

That scenario IS interesting, which was the post, as all other responses to this thread have alluded.

Your first para in answer to the OP is irrelevant, as that wasn’t the scenario I painted, was it?

Your 2nd para is relevant and as someone else posted, at kick off, yes, we’d have to win to be sure.

Why try to diss a genuine, potential scenario post, when nobody else has?

You have a good handle, but should add “in the changing rooms”

Pinched from the Southampton fans forum.

If the top 4 win all their remaining games, except Leicester who can’t if Southampton beat them, the table before the final day fixtures would be:-

Ipswich - 95
Leicester - 94
Leeds - 93
Southampton - 93

What a final day that would be, especially as it’s Leeds v Southampton.

Don’t think my heart could take it . .

I doubt very much that the club is being left in the dark. ITFC will know the exact position, but for obvious reasons won't make it public and will be professional because he's a Man Utd player, meaning it's up to Utd what they say or don't say.

We should just leave it alone and assume he's not coming back until/unless we're told otherwise.
