No one is tempting fate though Ryorrers cos it's not a celebration. It's meant to be a fillip to the team, as per Nodge (a bit embarrassing imo, sorry BA and gang) and Exeter (brilliant). Totally agree about shock results. Nothing is being taken for granted. If anything this reinforces the point of the bus greet. It probably doesn't make much of a difference either way tbh. |

Football is going to hell in a dump truck and has been for many years. Nerders is right on that. But that's the way it is for every professional club IF you want to be promoted and win games etc. Otherwise what's the point? I'm almost done with it, and that's whilst loving the last two years. No one's under any illusion why the yanks bought in. They'd sell to a dodgy nation state if the money was right. |

I don't disagree in essence. It's not mythical though. It's why Sky want Leicester in the Prem, and probably Leeds over Ipswich if more for their UK audience. Subs innit. And merch. Etc. You're living in the pre 90s, as has been noted ad nauseum. |

I'm pretty disinterested in the plan tbh, but as I say, I'm a miserable sod. The suggestion it's arrogant, or off putting, or celebrating promotion, etc. is simpy incorrect. But people love something to moan and wring their hands about, innit.] COYFB |

Were the fans celebrating promotion before the Norwich game? Were they already celebrating promotion before the Exeter game? No and no. FFS |

It's up to the fans. No one is celebrating promotion ffs. They are supporting and trying to encourage the players. They may not need extra motivation but as I say, it's up to fans how they support the team, as long as it's legal or within the rules or whatever obviously. |

I won't be anywhere near it but that's because I'm a miserable sod. In answer to other comments, it isn't directly comparable to the Norwich game. It is directly comparable to the Exeter game though, which didn't end too shabbily. The notion it will adversely affect the players is anxiety driven projection. It won't. |

I was at a season opener between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Bridge a while back and a sozzled Chelsea skinhead ran on naked just before kick-off, did a very bad break dance in the centre circle, politely shook Patrick Viera's hand, and staggered off aided by a steward. All very English. |

We did that in 2001 and that did not end well. |
| Forum Reply | Agree with that in essence at 08:45 1 May 2024
Fat mooks filming themselves when everyone else has gone back off the pitch is annoying, but that's the way it will always be these days cos the players will come back out with their families (I don't get it but hey ho, just me). A massive fan and team and staff bundle up is a joy to behold though. |

Even if we lose and Leeds don't (shudder) :) |

And sit in Upper North :) People saying they'd prefer to watch a lap of honour than a pitch invasion, I simply do not get. Personally I think laps of honour are naff as fack. I'll probably get pelters for that. I've cheered and applauded all season and would rather get on the beers (and see players around Town anyway no doubt) but hey ho. |
