29th minute made a great tackle in the box after pegging it from the other half to save a shot. 80th minute did the same in his own six yard box. Lazy sod.
You're not going mad. I was just chatting to a mate at the game today and telling him how we once went to Norwich on an open top bus. He mentioned this thread. So, here I am to prove your sanity.
It was March '95. I've no idea why I agreed to it. It was a friend of mine called Mike Houchell who organised the whole thing. It was freezing. It was a bit of a giggle up until about Asda (we were cheering on Whitton Utd as we went past their ground) but when we hit the A140 it was bitter.
We did have a couple of tin foil trophies to wave I recall and some CHASE IN flyers that were confiscated on the way into the ground. As we entered Carrow Road on the bus it was all quite friendly. I don't think their fans could believe it and we had a few of them clapping. I remember Ian Butterworth and couple of their other players just cracking up as we drove past the stand. The game was awful. Warky got sent off (for being too old I think). We all sat downstairs on the way back - it was so cold. It's all documented (with pictures) in the fantastic fanzine 'Score! Ipswich Score!'. I should know. I was the editor.
