Can people saying "if he doesn't want to sign then move on" shut up please. We are not Real Madrid or Man United. When a player we want has options its up to the board and Jewell to sell Town to them and to show them we have the ambition to match theirs. People are concerned because we've had Sean Derry, Charlie Austin, Joel Ward and now Chambers at the club but they have all decided to walk away. And they're just the ones we know about. |

The difference between a good manager and a great one is that the great ones can adapt. The game is always moving forward. Managers like Paul Jewell, Glenn Hoddle, Gordan Strachen we're good in their day but the game has moved on and they haven't with it - only the truly greats i.e. Sir Alex can!
If you look at the league it's no surprise that Southampton with Nigel Adkins, Cardiff with Malky Mackay and Brighton with Guy Poyet are at the top. Even Dougie Freedman is doing well with Palace. It has to be someone up and coming. I'm now off to post this on the "other" site in the hope someone will see it! |

Some people on here baffle me! If he plays really well for us for a year who cares if he is 35 or 25. Boateng was clearly good enoguh for Jewell and McClaren but not some people on this site, he would have really added something and probably brought along Hyam. So IF we get him and IF the season were to start this weekend our midfield would probably be Carson - Leadbitter - Bowyer - Cresswell with Healy, Drury, Hyam, Civelli and Martin in reserve. Not too bad I still think we will get one of Bullard and Dyer or maybe both. What a midfield we would have with Dyer - Bullard - Bowyer - Carson. We can but dream! |

It looks like the bid has been accepted but EADT say the initial payment is £5m while Phil you have got it at £9m. Any clarity on this? £5m would probably get us sharp and coppinger with change left but I'd still much rather have Wickham! |
