Disgusting behaviour by a cowardly group of individuals.
No-one should have to face or witness violence or intimidation before, during or after simply attending a sporting event.
I know a few on here call us a thuggish club, missile throwers to a man, and 'Northern scum', amongst other things.
But 99.9% of us are just like you, and abhor the few 'missile throwers' and the despicable & cowardly lads who set about your fan(s) outside the ground yesterday.
I hope everyone got home safe, and, as a fellow football fan am saddened that anyone should feel threatened, intimidated attending our ground or our City . |

It's a reyt sheet show . . . again! - thanks to the staggering level of incompetence of our owner.
Asking the fans to pay for his financial gambles and mismanagement of the club over last
7 or 8 years eg: Highest ticket prices in Championship and highest replica kit prices just for starters. He continually reveals himself to be utterly clueless in the running of a football club on and off the field, and appears unwilling to seek or listen to professional advice.
You are so lucky to have ownership who have a clear plan and strategy for progress in place. Good luck to you, but bloody heck how I envy you! |

c'mon, it isn't 'the fanbase' though is it? it's a number of ill-informed gobshiiites.
They are nowhere near the vast majority of normal Owls fans who are just like you - fans who love their club and yearn for some good times to return.
Most Wednesday fans wish you well, and for what it's worth, I think you are well set for a great Championship campaign and a bright future.
Don't let the morons on Twitter or messageboards lead you into believing that the majority of Wednesdayites don't wish you well and yes, envy you like hell.

Ipswich fans, understandably, point to stats on possession, passes etc to back up the 'best footballing team in the division' narrative.
On that basis, have a look at the stats from the game at Hillsborough. You were, on that day, a pretty direct team, often bypassing midfield and using balls over the top to Jackson's pace. It was, on the day, a masterstroke by McKenna, and caught us out & unsettled us.
We were a better footballing team LAST year, but look where that got us! Moore toughened us up this year with the addition of bigger, more physical players to play a style more suited to L1, and, so far, it is working.
Be interesting to see if you can 'pure football' your way out of this division.
I hope you can, as it would make a refreshing change and I'm sure you'd do well in the Championship.
Only time will tell, but I wish you luck as long as it's not at our expense! |

C'mon, we all know no club has one single 'fan profile' . Wednesday have our fair share of arrogant fans, but believe me, the vast majority of us feel no arrogance at all about our club's position or situation over recent years.
We are however, like Ipswich Town, a large club with a large, loyal, but long suffering fanbase. And this is our FOURTH venture into Div3/League One in my lifetime!
And on your point re: Wednesday 'haven't looked like getting back to the Premier League since going down', we aren't far off Ipswich's record regarding 'nearly' returns via play offs . We have made the Championship Play-off Final once, (to your twice since your relagation from the PL??) and the semi-finals once. . . . Pathetic, I agree, in 20+ years for both of our great clubs.
Anyway, nothing against Plymouth (who, resources wise, are doing brilliantly), but I want SWFC & ITFC to go up this season (don't mind in which order, just want us both out of this League).
Good luck for the rest of the season (bar our visit to Portman Road, obviously!) |

May i respectfully point out that we have not been found guilty of any of the charges you mention .. The ground sale was approved by the EFL at the time it took place.
I don't like the creative accounting or loophole exploiting any more than you do. . . . But, as yet, we haven't been found 'guilty' .
And, don't forget an awful lot of small businesses lost out when your club went into admin, that's the point i was trying to make. You are no more squeaky clean than anyone else.
I hate to see fans of any club suffer through these financial shenanigans, because it IS always the fans and local businesses who suffer. Not the incompetent EFL or the corrupt or incompetent owners.
But, thus far, ITFC has been no more snowy white than any other club i'm afraid. |
