| News Comment | McCarthy: Town Players Facing Pay Cuts of 50 or 60 Per Cent at 13:32:51
Wow, saw the article pop up on twitter and couldn't help clicking. I haven't bothered with this place for quite some time now. Amazing how this website / forum is still a hornets nest of moaners and self-taught experts. All the cock-sure “realists” now have what they want but will never admit to being wrong about the MM situation. Where's Blueboy these days? Celebrating Nodge promotion? This article is being drip fed by TWTD as click bait. You lot keep saying MM should give it a rest and move on? Maybe if you didn't take all your advice from TWTD forums you'd move on too. All the mock-offense that MM might say something to defend his time here. Makes me laugh. Now back to the real problem (same one as it has been for probably 10 years - clue: it wasn't the manager) we aren't moving forward again until either a). We get a new owner or b). The current owner changes his approach. Right. I'm away from this again. Makes me laugh out loud that most of you (ST holder or not) consider yourself “supporters” of the club. |
| News Comment | Hurst: No Regrets on Summer Transfer Policy at 15:35:58
I've been avoiding this site for some time now. The acidic, toxic atmosphere generated by the boo boys over the last season (and more) which was given a platform on TWTD made me feel sick. I've loved the club since I was 7. That's 40+ years and I don't need to tell anyone who supports ITFC that we've some amazing highs but probably more lows in between than most clubs would have to suffer. But I never saw the vitriolic hateful abuse aimed at a manager like that before. That's other clubs I thought. That's not what we do. In the cold light of day, if MM gets credit for absolutely nothing else, he was far wiser about working on a stingy budget in the Championship than anyone (fan or no fan) ever gave him credit for. I don't think PH is necessarily a bad manager. But he absolutely is inexperienced. He was never going to have it as easy here as he, and many of the MM-outers, would have imagined. Evans is still working off a Lg1 or Lg2 budget expecting the manager to work miracles. And the fans (the boo boys) have a blue-tinted sense of entitlement about the style we play, as if you just choose to be successful in the Championship by playing Barca style tikki takka. We (as a fanbase) got a taste of blood end of last season, and now we like it don't we. PH will be next on the chopping block and likely another after him before we find ourselves looking over our shoulders at Lg2 or even worse. Supporters should support. Not pick the team, not pick the tactics, not demand the manager out at any sign of struggle. A good crowd at a game is like a twelfth player. A bad crowd is like playing with 10. |

The good news is it'll take 2 years to get to a promotion chasing position. the bad news is that it will also probably take 2 more managers. And at that time we'll be wondering how did our club ever let it get so bad that fighting for promotion back to the Championship was the best we could hope for? |

1RWR who do you think signed Cotter to the club in the first place? Fans booing at home is a disgrace for whatever reason. And now that the mob has been successful, this is now what we can look forward to every time they don't like the look of someone. And those that said they were staying away because of MM will no doubt come back in their droves now as we look forward to life in the lower leagues unless THE REAL PROBLEM, Marcus Evans, is resolved. But I think that will happen when it's already too late. |

I've stayed off here for such a long time. This used to be an amazing fanzine/website (even if it has always had total spoofers like Blueboy there to beat the negativity drum) but I'm reading through some of the "best wishes and thanks Mick" messages here and it's embarrassing. Same people who regularly slated him now tipping their caps to say thanks. All managers have a start date and an end date. This is Mick's end date with us. But the toxic, vitriolic and personal abuse thrown at him on pages like this and from the herd in the stand has been nothing short of disgusting. At no time did he ever deserve the BS that was thrown at him. I laughed when the hypocrites came on here after the Nodge away game when he dared to swear "in the direction of our children" - nobody mentioned that it was the mums and dads in the crowd who were using the most colourful language of all towards him - but he's not allowed to say boo back. Poor little Johnny and Jane, God help them. Now you can all go back to waiting in the long grass for the next sucker. And he will come in no doubt. And he will win a few to begin with. And then someone will say "but he's not Sir Bobby is he?" and then it'll all be like groundhog day again. I despair for this once incredible club. With some of the so-called supporters we have, who needs away fans? |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Wonderful Finish By Celina But Result Tough on Burton at 19:34:44
Love it. I've tried to stay away from this absolute whinge fest for a long time. The same people who have used similar “agricultural” language here about MM so many times before now getting all sensitive. Do me a favour and take your whinging to someone who gives a sh1t. MM will either go or be removed soon and then you lot will move on to the next victim. Blueboy - wow! Very rare comment when we win. Well said MM. |

So who knows anything about this fella? Has he got an equally magical wand with which to turn pennies into Championship-standard budget? Has he the capability to at the very least maintain our tier 2 status? Can he have us knocking on the door of the playoffs despite the obvious financial challenge? Has he even got any pedigree of any kind as a manager? Or is that the blinkered bias of the anti-Mick brigade just wants change and sod the consequences? |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-1 Newcastle United - Match Report at 14:26:45
Gcon is right. Blueboy et al have been particularly sensitive in the past to name calling - but only if some dares to call them names. Seems as usual that those rules only work one way. And yes, respect does have to be earned. Why would MM have to respect some of the people who have aimed personal hysterical abuse at him? It amazes me that so many on here have called him so many names and yet as soon as he dares to stand up to them, he's put down as being disrespectful . FICKLE fans indeed. |
| News Comment | Steijn: I've Not Spoken to Ipswich at 11:54:49
Seriously. WTF? All the "yes pleases" and "dream signings".... Why? He's managing a 2nd tier Dutch team with some success in a league which is nowhere near the same standard as the Championship. Has he previously provided success at bigger clubs (genuine question) or can anyone tell me how this guy has avoided being picked up by any big clubs up to this point? Just because he's different to MM does not mean he'll be successful. More than that he could have us relegated if he is handed the same hefty war chest that MM has been working with. On top of all of that this is just speculation and the MM-outers will lap that up at this point. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report at 21:04:02
Poor result and by all accounts (from those who were there) poor performance too. But not a loss. You know how you forget to bring your phone charger to work some days and by the time you get home there's few energy bars showing?? When we get a bad result it seems to be much the equivalent of putting your phone on charge for the full night - 100% energised! Shame on all of you who continually look forward (Yes, look forward) to Ipswich getting a bad result just so you can jump on here or on to some poxy radio phone in to educate the world with your armchair expertise. We never get the same amount of posts when we win. Wonder why??? I think it's obvious, and it has nothing to do with the manager. |
| News Comment | Lawrence Back for Brentford Clash as Williams Closes in on Return at 18:49:06
Again. On almost zero budget, MM has brought in all the players mentioned above as important and the ones who've been injured too. That's the gamble when you haven't a pot to pi$$ in. I think even the critics have to acknowledge that. Lawrence, Dave, Webster, Williams, Spence, Taylor, Moore, and even some of the others such as Knudsen who finds it hard to get any credit from fans. That's the Bargain Basement we're shopping in. If we had serious funds like most of the teams above us we could be more choosy when it comes to players injury records. I think when fit these are all good additions regardless of cost. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Hopes Derby Performance and Result Will Help Mend Relationship With Fans at 21:56:32
Prebbs, 1st upmark for you and it was by mistake TimmyH I agree with BBG, Burnley are still not renowned for a passing style and certainly weren't during their first promotion season. Once they achieved that, even though they were relegated again, the fans stayed with the manager and team, they re-calibrated wisely using their Premier League money and went again. |
