Last pre-season at Colchester he was outstanding, easily the best player on the pitch. I really thought that he'd push on and cement his place in the team before he was then loaned out. I'd have thought KMcK would have been able to develop him. Defo a player in there somewhere. |
| News Comment | Edwards Signs for Wigan at 18:01:20
The way he and his teammates downed tools last season was embarrassing and I don't think he was up for the level of expectation that PC demands, hence why he's gone to a club with less ambition and potential. Probably suits him perfectly to play for a club where the expectation levels are lower, means his mediocre efforts won't come under as much scrutiny. |
| News Comment | Downes: We Should Be Winning Games Like This Easily, It's Not Good Enough at 15:24:05
Are the players feeling the pressure? “No, I wouldn't say it's that"... And this right here is the problem! - Playing for Ipswich should come with the pressures of expectation. These players don't feel it because they don't care enough. All these empty words don't mean a thing, it's actions that we want to see. I like Flynn and i hope that he is one of the few that we keep and make captain but there is a massive rebuild required and a huge change of mentality needed! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Fans Waited to Throw Bottles at Me at Brentford at 09:30:49
Is it me or does anyone else think that Mick is worried about being forgotten and these digs are his way of keeping his name in the media. Every time I read a dig from him its always followed by 'I'm ready to get back in to management' which in itself, wouldn't make the newspapers. Sad really. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Denies Aiming Tirade at Fans at 15:38:50
It gets worse the more you see it. Me and my boy will not be going to any more games whilst he is in charge. Have lost the tiny bit of remaining respect I had for him. |

About his level, wish him well, but what MM saw in him to offer him a contract I'll never know. I guess that's backed up by the fact that he can only attract a league 2 club! |
| News Comment | McCarthy Hits 25-Year Management Milestone at 12:53:55
The big issue here is the MM still plays the game the same way he did 25 years ago! A young hungry manager next please. Congrats on 25 years to MM though. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Awful Goals Conceded on Bad Day at the Office at 20:51:08
I know that Mick is going to get a lot of criticism on here and I'm not saying that he shouldn't. But the players have got to step up. A truly terrible performance made up of a host of individual errors. A change of management isn't going to turn us in to promotion chasers. Marcus Evans and his millions may have saved the club from going in to liquidation again but as long as he controls the purse strings we are going no where fast. It may be time for a change of manager, but don't expect any change on the pitch until we get a new owner, or he invests in to the squad. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Understands Fans' Frustrations at 18:48:18
your broken heart can go with your broken record then Mick! What an awful game, such a lack of quality, intent and passion. What has happened to this once great football club? 4-5-1 for 60 minutes and we wonder why we can't create anything. Even when Best wins a header he is chasing it himself! Take out the last 5 minutes of the Villa game and I can't remember us having any real chances in the last 3 home games. I've never called for a change until now, think it's time for a change of management. Football has progressed but we are still playing football from the Wimbeldon/Watford era, at least they got results though. I think the day was summed up for me, when a young fan, must have been no older than 10, spent the entire second half playing on his tablet, and not only playing on it, but playing Chess!! That's right, Chess! Need I say more? |

Was there (as I said on the forum), he had a solid game and looks very commanding. Good distribution and definitely one for the future. Some good ITFC former youngster on display to. Jack Ainsley, Tom Winter and Byron Lawrence. The latter was different class and surely seems destined for another crack in the pro game. The football was a delight to watch, back to normality for me on Tuesday tho 😩 |

A bit Reminiscent of Daryl Murphy, how many times did he join us on loan before making it permanent?! Would be a welcome addition, but not at the expense of any more arrivals. Still really hoping Mick gets that one signing that gets us all excited before 11pm. |
| News Comment | Benitez: Murphy Will Add Competition Up Front at 08:42:35
For those people across the news stories that can't understand why Murphy wants to move... He has 2/3 years left playing football. By completing this love will earn him a decent signing on fee and well as at least doubling his wage. Not to mention the promotion bonuses he will receive. Football is a short career, you can t blame a man for wanting to ensure security for him and his family. I think he realises he won't be a regular, but the main incentive for the move is money. Good luck to him I say. Yes Ipswich have been good to him, but he's been good for us as well. I just we can attract a young and hungry striker from league 1/2 and he becomes an ITFC legend. A bit like Marcus Stewart, if we have to pay £2/3m then it's Gotta be worth it. |

Thought the scum where there for the taking today and although I'm just relieved we didn't lose, I still think this was an opportunity missed. However, hopefully the team takes confidence from the performance and this springboards our season. COYB |
| News Comment | Touré on Trial With Clermont Foot at 17:40:48
Yeah cuz that's what happened with Mings and Creswell hey Jas0999! Why can't fans accept that you may go through 6 or 7 bad ones before finding a gem? Get over it, they came, we took a punt and it didn't pay off. What else can Mick do with the resources he's being asked to work with? |
| News Comment | Webster Tipped for Premier League Future at 10:31:36
These are the sort of signings that I think will excite the fans, young, hungry and talented players from the lower leagues that are looking to further their careers. Admittedly we will face competition for these players, but surely this is a better option than signing the like of Giles Coke. |
| News Comment | Malarczyk Not Ruling Out Southend Return at 08:43:22
Agree Langdon, we aren't going to make big money signings, fact. Micks record for cheap, lower league signings isn't bad, but for every 6 or 7 signings, you may find 1 gem. Can't say I have a problem with this. Give them a chance, if it don't work out, move em on and try again. I seem to recall Southampton and Norwich building a team from the lower leagues in league 1 before gaining back to back promotions. Big money signings don't guarentee u promotion, ask Derby! |
