Ward Reveals Conversations With Town Prior to Cardiff Move
at 13:32:39

Midastouch- We offered 1m plus a player (assume Pitman) and Rotherham preferred our offer. It was Ward who chose Cardiff nothing to do with our bid. Shame I would have liked to see him at Town, but credit where it's due we are being a lot more ambitious this window. Hopefully more signings to come!

McCarthy Delighted With "Prodigious Kids"
at 06:21:46

The club said the squad numbers would be announced yesterday, but Mick wanted to hold back for a 'specific reason' according to the club, so hopefully see a new arrival today. My betting is AMN, heard any more on this Phil?

Town Face Shelbourne in First Pre-Season Friendly
at 14:01:43

Currie10 I can't believe your using depression which happened years ago as a reason for not signing a player. Football players aren't robots, they're all humans like us and go through difficult spells. To use this as a genuine reason about not signing a player is utterly disrespectful and I'm sure the large majority would agree with me. Personally think he would be a great signing, hard worker good delivery from wide areas (which is something we've been missing for a long time) and something to prove in this league. If wages arent out of our reach I would go for it.

What We Need for the Upcoming Season
at 11:48:38

Joepublic glad you enjoyed the read and can't argue with anything you've put across. I agree not having a natural right back can be destabilising but as you've said Emmanuel did a solid job there last season. Could really step up this. Re Sears I also agree. Tends to look isolated on the flank sometimes and drifts in and out of games, can run in behind and cause defense all sorts of problems as we've already seen up front. Thanks for your praise and look forward to hopefully a great season to be an Ipswich fan! COYB!

McCarthy: Webster Could Be a Real Star in the Making
at 05:21:59

Welcome back ITFC moners! Are people seriously surprised MM see's Chambers as his 1st choice RB? He was NEVER going to move to centre back this season. (1) He said himself he sees himself as a right back now. (2). We saw last season when we put him there it wasn't any better and we didn't look balanced. I am fully aware Chambo is no Dani Alves but he has good qualities as well. Not forgetting Josh Emmanuel, who can really step up this season and make that position his own. Instead of sitting behind your computers waiting for the first pre season story to break so you can complain about why don't we all look forward to hopefully a more progressive season for the team we all love.

Owls Among Clubs Eyeing McGoldrick
at 04:18:24

Have to say I'm surprised so many fans would see him go. Agreed McGoldrick isn't the most reliable fitness wise but when he's fully fit he can be different class. Technique on the ball is premier league esque, he could really blossom next season. Hope he stays, massive fan of his.

Blues Linked With Blade Freeman
at 04:10:03

Amusing that people are comparing him to Coke and Toure! (A) They're completely different players and (B) they all play different positions. Agreed it might not be the most inspiring signing if true but at least give the lad a chance before writing him off.

Feeney Won't Be Joining Town
at 17:33:56

Cue the meltdown of 'we can't attract players' think about it, offered more money plus location wise it makes sense. Dissapointed though thought he made a difference to us last season. Dust ourselves down now and work on other targets! Time will tell whether he was worth extra wages being offered

Webster Aware of Town Interest in January
at 14:33:54

Have to say I think this marks the end for either Smith or Berra. IMO Mick wouldn't pay what is a significant fee for someone he sees as only a squad player, he will be signing him with a view of being in the team next season. Perhaps he's finally seen we are unbalanced with two left footed centre backs! My money would be on Berra leaving, Rangers maybe. Either way this is a real good start to the window!

Town Close to Landing Portsmouth's Webster With Clarke Set to Join Pompey
at 18:13:07

As much as I rate Clarke, I can understand this. It would leave us with 3 left footed centre halves and we would lack balance in the squad which has been our downfall for a while now. Webster is highly rated and will be a direct replacement, and of course his ability to play right back is an advantage. Wish Clarke all the best, positive start to the window if you ask me, nice to see MM starting his business nice and early!

McCarthy: Youngsters' Displays a Big Positive
at 08:14:53

'iaintaylorx' Whilst I love your optimism I just can't see that happening I'm afraid. As for the youngsters, I'm very excited about Clarke. The only worry is that he is left footed so we could be left unbalanced again which I do think has not helped us at times over recent years. I think we only need a few players and not a massive overhaul, attacking midfielder, 2/3 wingers, possibly another striker but I can't see MM doing it, unless he sees Sears as a permenant left midfielder now which would be a shame. The squad needs tweaking but keeping that spirit that got us in the play offs. With the correct investment and a bit of luck with injuries (Bishop, McGoldrick) I seriously believe we could be a force under MM and TC. Can't wait for the new season already!

Touré Released
at 11:04:50

There's always one scapegoat in the side isn't there! Douglas isn't going anywhere, his appearance clause means he's signed on for another year. So why don't we get off his back and try support him instead of pelting him every week? He's really not been as bad as some fans are making out. He's not been stand out this season, but then again who has? His experience and know how will be handy next season with the likes of Dozzell coming through. I have full faith in MM to sign the right players for this squad and we can continue to build for next season. Positivity, anything can happen with the correct recruritment and team spirit. Let's get behind the boys next season and be as amazing as we were this. COYB!

No Deal for Morphew
at 04:07:17

We're in a real dilemma with defenders. I understand why Mick is so stubborn with it, yes everyone clearly understands Chambers isn't a right back. If you were to move him back to CB who would you drop out? Berra and Smith although have had dodgy games in the main have been our most consistent performers. You have to remember too, Chambers has played that position for a few years now so who's to say he'd just go straight back to CB like he'd never been away? Smith is Ipswich through and through and is improving with age so he shouldn't be dropped. My opinion anyway.

Arsenal and Tottenham Linked With Dozzell
at 17:21:39

Wow, talk about overreaction. It's speculation, nothing more. Of course he's going to attract interest, he looked a great talent! instead of jumping back on the Evans and style of play bandwagon AGAIN, why don't we take it as a complement that 2 massive clubs are looking at our players? this doesn't mean he's going to go. Fans and supporters need to back the club rather than jump to conclusions. Wickham was a completely different transfer and we were arguably right to let him go, has hardly ripped the premier league apart has he? understand we're in a difficult time and all us fans are frustrated but let's keep going and show our support to the club from top to bottom. COYB!

Blues Out to Improve Home Form Against Resurgent Leeds
at 09:37:40

It really does get boring seeing the same comments here on every pre match press conference. Mick is being asked questions about the OPPOSITION, what do you expect him to say? 'They're not a great side, we're looking for a comfortable win'?. He's just stating facts, Byram, Dallas, Cook ect are all good players and of course it's going to be a difficult game, they're unbeaten in 8! That doesn't mean we're 'going for a 0-0' though! We will be searching for all 3 points. Simple as that.

McCarthy: We Let Our Guard Down
at 08:50:42

Here we go then, people jumping on the standard 'Long ball' bandwagon again. I actually thought we played well last night, especially first half. The difference was that little bit of quality and fair play to Boro, they played well and just edged us. The long throw I completely agree is ineffective, too predictable and needs to be scrapped. However, as for the 'long balls' when you have Murphy in your team, what do you expect? Arguably our best striker, and when so many goals have been created through his hold up play and ability in the air, it's obvious we're going to play to his strengths. Of course it would be nice to play 1-2 football at times but not many teams in the Championship have the bottle to do it. I still believe we will be in top 6 in May. Fraser, Bishop, Varney and Hyam all to come back, that as well as a fully fit (we shall see) David McGoldrick can be a real threat. No matter what you think of Mick and his '19th centuary football' just look at how far we've come and get behind the lads for the rest of the season and I'm sure we can be a success! COYB!

McCarthy: We Let Our Guard Down
at 00:13:55

We were very poor tonight and have been on a bad run, granted. However I think some fans need a reality check. This is arguably our first 'poor' run since Mick has been in charge, a month or two ago everyone was praising him and now all of a sudden he needs to be sacked? Come on, we need to get behind the team. No matter what you think of Mick, support the lads. One thing I will agree on is Micks stubbornness isn't helping the situation, we need to take a few more risks for SOMETHING to pay off, because at the moment nothing is going for us and I think that was made clear when Alex Bruce scored. Individual errors as well as injuries are costing us in the main, but were an amazing bunch of supporters so instead of calling for his head or booing, lets still travel in our thousands and remind the players how much were behind the cause. We WILL get out of this rut! COYB!
