Ipswich Town 2-0 Wigan Athletic - Match Report
at 17:28:11

Lucky to be ahead at the break. I thought we looked comfortable for the first twenty minutes of the second half. We seemed to open them up with our passing, though it always looked like it was going to take a big effort to convert openings into a goal. Then they got hold of the ball again and made its look ordinary. Very pleased we got the second. And enjoyed watching the team on Sky, which hasn't been the case for a while!!

The win will come. Keane has made so many changes to the side since he took the reigns players have got to get to know each other on the pitch. I think the scale, speed and manner in which Keane made changes to the team was not perfect and could have been managed slightly better. But what we are seeing now is teething problems and there is no question that Keane should stay and be allowed to get it right. The underlying signs are that it won't take long.

Keane Yet to Make Keeper Choice for Swansea Clash
at 14:23:13

Wright has been one of our better players since his return. Is his form down to a loss of confidence? I really wonder if it is connected to a lack of man management skills from Keane. There are times when half the team look scared to death. Competition for places is great, but if you are bulleted as soon as you make a mistake it can quickly turn good players - and good teams - bad.

Clegg: Win Just Around Corner
at 13:50:06

Legend - tell your mate to stay put! What we need in the Green King Stand is someone to cheer lead and get the party started. Someone to bang a flippin big drum the whole game, like the Pompey supporters have.

Clegg: Money Still There for Signings
at 13:32:52

I agree with Martus. I was at the Newcastle game as I expect many of you were. I had never seen us play so badly. I think partly it is due to the scale of changes Keane has made. There was no understanding between players - largely because they're barely on first name terms yet!
I also think town has always been a 'nice' club - and a nurturing one at that. Like it or no, Keane has changed both of these things, possibly for good. Lots of our players look short on confidence and I'm not sure TractorRoy is the best manager to be playing for in that frame of mind. But... he has laid the axe to the root and there is no going back (to old players, or management styles). We have to let him see it through and let him produce results his way.
P.S. How many great managers have had a lousy first year and nearly been sacked?
