“A Bright New Future”
at 11:01:14

I would agree with you to a point BillBlue. McCarthy's remit was to keep us up, and he kept us up and then some to be fair, so it was only right that he carried on in the role this season. Now I can't see us going up this season, with great reluctance I have to accept that we simply don't have the quality, which is highlighted every time we play one of the so called better sides at the top of the table. Assuming he doesn't pull a miracle out of the bag in the 2nd half of the season, shake his hand at the end of the final game and say goodbye. Then look at bringing in someone with more of a passing/attacking approach which I believe is what your looking for with regard to actually trying to beat teams.
I wouldn't be anti-McCarthy though, I would agree that the majority of the blame for our current problem lies with ME. McCarthy is simply playing the hand he was dealt. If ME isn't going to back Mick or a new manager in the summer as I suggested, then I can't see how anything will change.

Camp Weighing Up Options
at 12:36:44

I worry about his attitude, he was in the Northern Ireland side for a while there after getting clearance to play through a grandparent, but then Roy Carroll was preferred to him for a game so he withdrew from the squad and made hiomself unavialble for the next two games. I don't know if he's permanently unavailable, but I wasn't impressed with his attitude.

2 years ago he was Chanmpionship keeper of the year, but his form has definitely dipped.

No Davies Bid But Town Interested
at 11:59:05

From the wording of this article and the previous one, I thought it was pretty clear that Phil was just informing us that the rumour mill was linking us with having made a bit for Davies, but it was far from a confirmed fact, although turns out it might be a real interest. It's a bit like the gossip column on BBC, some people love having a read of it, even though they know the majority of it is nonsense, others prefer to avoid it completely.

We'll never all be happy, let's not argue....

Carson Wins Cap in Heavy Defeat
at 16:50:37

In defence of my feeble footballing nation, we had 9 withdrawals from the squad, all of whom would have played...with Evans, McAuley & Hughes in defence, Brunt & Davis in midfield and Lafferty upfront, we may have kept the score to 3 or 4...

On another note, Andrew Little was the best of a bad bunch for us. He's going on a free transfer from Rangers if the administrators don't give him a contract, he's got pace and can play defence, midfield or up front (better attacking to be fair). We should be having a look.

Hourihane on Trial at Plymouth
at 16:30:59

Nah, you only pay compensation when the parent club has tried to keep the player, they have to have offered him a contract to same value or higher than the one he was on to be entitled to compensation. Sunderland just released him without offering new terms, as far as I'm aware.

Final Chopra Bid?
at 13:48:31

I don't think it will actually be £4 million, press always exaggerate the fees. Sure when Keane said no one had reached the Walters valuation, the press said we were holding out for £4 mil, turned out to be a fair bit lower.

Sunderland Keeper Move Near to Collapse?
at 13:41:53

I don't think we need a keeper so I'm not exactly gutted....

But the real point I want to make here is that all the trouble we're having clearly isn't Keane's fault. We've had Derry, Chopra, Fulop and probably a few others I've forgotten or don't know about, that Keane has pointed out and did his part, only for the combination of Clegg and Evans to mess it up. Clegg out?
