Town to Face West Ham in Pre-Season
Town to Face West Ham in Pre-Season
Friday, 14th May 2010 11:34

Town have announced that this pre-season’s Portman Road showcase friendly will be against West Ham United on Saturday 31st July (KO 3pm). The game will see former Blue Kieron Dyer return to his hometown club.

Chief executive Simon Clegg told the club site: "As part of our pre-season schedule Roy wanted a high profile friendly against top opposition at home and we've got that with West Ham coming to Portman Road.

"It's not too far for their supporters to travel and with the Championship season starting a week later, it should be a good atmosphere for what I'm sure will be exciting and competitive match."

Tickets will go on sale from July 1st priced as follows, season ticket holders booking tickets in advance: £15 adults, £10 concessions and £2 U16s. Non-season ticket holders booking tickets in advance: £17.50 adults, £12.50 concessions and £3 U16s. Tickets on the day: £20 adults, £15 concessions and £5 U16s.

The Hammers have been allocated 4,000 tickets in the upper tier of the Cobbold Stand.

West Ham were last at Portman Road for a friendly in the summer of 2008 when a Dean Ashton hat-trick saw them to a 5-2 victory.

Top class? A team that narrowly lost the race to be relegated to Hull and Burnley?

This is the Wet Sham that should have had points deducted after the 'Tevez affair' and subsequently be relegated. They always seem to get away with things, Tevez, relegation, huge debt etc. It's like they have a guardian angel watching over them (Is it called Trevor Brooking?)
Hope they bring some of their charming, lovable cockney, non-hooligan 'fans' with them. Obviously they'd never be abusive or violent in any way!

£15 for a friendly, this club is shambolic.

Seems a sensible choice, a Premier League club that is not too far away. For me the prices are a bit high for a pre-season friendly though. I hope that something is done about the overpriced match day tickets next season.

When looking at the shambles that is West Ham, especially the outspoken new owners, I feel glad to have Marcus Evans as the owner of our football club.

£20 is an absolute joke, the only thing that would justify that is if we had some high profile new signings, unlikely!

^ tight fisted
i hate people who complain about ticket prices go to the cinema if you don't like it why does everyone assume they have a rite to see their favourite club play for next to nothing they can charge what they want just like you would charge what you want if you were running a buisness.

anyway...lol

id take Dyer but only for free and only if he publicly apologised for being an arrogant playboy wannabe moron and only if we didn't have to pay a fee and only had to pay him our lowest wages for first team on a week to week basis as he would be out injured for the season in his first 5 mins.

not withstanding £560 for a season ticket, £760 if you cant afford to do it before earlybird. Absoulutely shocking, I suppose when your CEO is earning £250k a year you need to shaft someone to negate his salary, oh that will be us then. Mugs.

On the actual "Friendy" in question its not the best bunch of people to invite down here i had a diving lesson when i was 18 just after the home leg of one of the play off semi finals and i took an "accidental" wrong turn down past Rileys pool hall/(away end of the ground) it was like trying to drive through an extremely over crowded open prison with all the inmates thinking id stole their tobacco or something.
If they bring any trouble down here they should be rounded up and publicly flogged until they really are forever blowing bubbles

Not tight fisted at all bluenight, but considering my mate has just got himself a chelsea season ticket for £580 it just seems strange that the premier league champions are cheaper than us?? suppose we had been playing some really attractive stuff this season....

I think I must be the only one that thinks we have attracted a better team than I expected!

Hype313 - Your friend must be sitting in the family enclosure to get a season ticket for that money!!

£368 Adult £103 Under 16 in Cobbald Family Enclosure ITFC = £471

£550 Adult £275 Juvenile in East Lower Family Centre CFC = £825

Thats a whole lot more money........ but I suppose you get a whole lot better football!!

West Ham will have a different Manager, different players and are still a premiership team, for me this is actually a great tie to get.

Could be worse it could be Sunderland!!!!!
