Swansea Back in for Priskin
Swansea Back in for Priskin
Friday, 31st Dec 2010 23:00

Swansea City have made a loan offer for Town striker Tamás Priskin. On Thursday Blues boss Roy Keane revealed that the club were considering a loan bid for one of their senior players.

The Swans were understood to have made enquiries regarding Priskin in the summer with manager Brendan Rodgers having been the boss to get the most out of the Hungarian at Watford.

Back then, Rodgers said he wasn’t surprised that his new club were being linked with the Slovakia-born frontman: “He is a player that I worked with at Watford and he scored a lot of goals for me. He is a talent.

“He is one of a number of players that will be linked with Swansea because of their association with me. He is a good player, but he is an Ipswich player.”

Keane has said that the Blues could look at allowing one or two of his squad move on loan in order to free up wages so new players can be brought in.

Priskin, who has 18 months on his Town contract with the club also having the option of another year, has recently been out of Keane’s squad after a less than enthusiastic performance from the bench at Preston.

Prior to that, the 24-year-old had finally begun to show why Town paid the Hornets £1.7 million for him in August 2009, netting five goals. However, a month-long barren run led to him being dropped.

Priskin failed to make much of an impact during his first season with the Blues, moving to QPR on loan in January having scored only twice in the first half of the 2009/10 campaign.

Let him go. May have been good for Watford, but done nothing for Town. In fact one of the laziest players I have ever watched.

Oh, and get Pablo back. At least he could find the net more often than Mr Priskin.

Would be crazy if we let him go. The team is far from strong up front as it is!!

Am I alone thinking he's actually looked quite good this year, when given a chance. So why are we going to loan him out? Who are we going to get in as a replacement? Why is Keane still here? FORK

Same old sh1te every transfer window " we are in for two or three players and we need to get them early". Quick as a flash - no one comes.......

Same old same old

FORK

I'm (stupidly) optimistic that we will get two 'decent' signings this time! Surely we can't have the wool pulled over our eyes yet again?! If nothing 'decent' comes from this window I shall completely lose faith. I'm still blindly confident something good can come from a disappointing middle to our season!

Can see him fitting in well in the Swansea team with the ball being played in to his feet. Thought when they played us at PR that all they needed was some one like him to be really dangerous.

So we loan Priskin out in order to free up some wages for a new signing, and it turns out that the new signing is... Rory Fallon?? You can see it coming...

what are you on about Priskin had been playing really good recently you must not of been to the recent games and seen him

Although Priskin hasn't scored as many as he could have recently, his workload and creativity has been top notch. I'm not sure who we could bring in who would offer as much as Tamas from the loan market.

It seems like a gaffe to me.

Intresting one
Priskin has played better this season however for me not scoring enough goals.
Fallon looked good against Leicester and his hold up play helped Scotland
loan or sell priskin to land Fallon can't see it as Fallon would not cost much to buy and his wages would be far less than Priskin

loan or sell Priskin to bring in a proven goalscorer and keep Fallon I would go for that.
Would prefer to sell Priskin than Wickham

What is it about Connor Wickham? Anything from £8M upwards should be accepted with gratitude, we can then rebuild. He did n't do a lot last year and has done even less this year added to the fact that once he is fit and if he plays well, RK will drop him anyway because he doesn't like his team scoring too many goals!! Does anyone remember the last prodigy that we had, I thing his name was Bowditch! Look how that turned out! Take the money and run!!

I wish Swansea had put a bid in for the clueless KEANE ! -Priskin is a talented player and has been treated abysmally by Keane ( as have many other players ). Keane destroys talent and is destroying ITFC !

Another Keane signing being loaned out?? i agree with some that Priskin has started to look like he is worth something but his style of play does not match what Roy wants , so it must be asked WHY THE HELL DID ROY KEANE SIGN PRISKIN IN THE FIRST PLACE????? i am NOT a Keane supporter and all that are read this ; We will need to free Priskins wages to sign Fallon (who does suit Keanes style of play and will let you know what he has planned for this Club) we will need to sign a keeper and for me that will be the one or two players we will sign maybe one more (central midfielder) which just shows me that this Manager has not got a clue at what he is doing!!! he is going to rely on central defenders across the pitch, central midfielders across the pitch and have two maybe three strikers available for selection then again when we struggle to score his answer will be - we need to sign more players?
I AM SICK TO DEATH OF WHAT IS GOING ON, AND I DONT EVEN THINK ROY KNOWS WHAT IS GOING ON BUT CLEGG SEEMS TO THINK EVERY THING IS OK????//

Priskin is without question a talent that needs his confidence and self belief building. RK is incapable of "mothering" players to perform. He expects that if one has a Phd in aromatics,he should be able to build and fly the thing!!! Players are not our problem. Motorvational management is.

I would say Priskin and Conaugo are equally lazy. Both are what I call plus one players when not in possession and both refuse to chase balls that are not played to there feet.

Priskin has improved from the start of the season but to be fair that wasn't hard. A player with the pace of Alan Lee, the turning circle of a Cheftain tank and the attitude of a spotty teenager.

One of senior bosses is a big Watford fan and said they couldn't believe we had paid the best part of £ 2 million for "that lazy bastard"

I Hope Tamas does go to Swansea, then people can see just what a good player he is , when "managed" appropriately !

Let him go, might be a blessing if it allows us to bring in a fresh face. Let's be honest, he may have shown some improvement, but in my eyes a striker should be banging goals in on a regular basis, thats what his job is, it's ok being able to hold up the ball & bring others into play, but it's goals that win games & at the moment we just ain't doing it!!

What fantastic business sense it now looks getting rid of Jon Stead & Jordan Rhodes........

Bad times at PR......

This just shows why Keane has to go. Priskin and Townsend were our two better players against Swansea. One gets sent back to Spurs the other dropped to the bench. No wonder Priskin wasn't motivated against Preston. Just as we seemed to have got a player in form the Keane drops him for a donkey like Fallon! Keane Out!

What a weird career Priskin will have had here to date if he does go!
