Swansea: No Contact on Scotland
Swansea: No Contact on Scotland
Wednesday, 9th Feb 2011 19:16

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins says there’s been "no contact at all" between Town and the Swans regarding striker Jason Scotland. The Trinidadian says he would like to rejoin his former club on loan with Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers having said he could be interested in signing the 31-year-old if he became available.

But Jenkins says that so far there have been no talks between the clubs: "There's been no reaction from us as a football club and it's purely linked to Jason or Jason's agent. I'm completely unaware [of contact]."

Despite this, Jenkins says he believes Rodgers may make use of the loan market: "Brendan may be looking at doing one or two things. We will run through a few things, but there's no definite view on which way."

I agree. When you have a story with conflicting reports going different directions, it is probably a non-story.

Harsh bluebeat for our second top goal scorer. Grow up.

Bluebeat I think that's highly unfair unlike lisbie he is a decent player and only want to move to get games as he isn't getting any here, in the twilight of his career I don't blame him.

bluelady - completely agree with you.

Our second highest scorer, asked to play a loan striker role (not his game) and been given poor service. The guy deserves more credit! That said, if he wants to go - let him. BUT only if we sign a replacement. Senior strikers are hard to come by at ITFC - in fact we only have Priskin and Scotland. Wickham is only 17 and played out wide, whilst Murray is still a reserve team player. The better clubs have three or four senior strikers. No wonder Cardiff, QPR and Forest are near the top!

I am torn. If he is not getting games here then it is fair to let him go.
If he stays here who is going to miss out?

Seems both Jason and ITFC are desperate for the move to happen

Decent player. Can understand wanting to go back to a club where he was very successful but a bit early to be thinking about moving on. Not sure that PJ doesn't want him, just that Priskin and Wickham have been playing well. Give it a few more weeks to see how things pan out...

It sounds to me that he has been told that if a club came in for him they would let him go on loan, Look like this story has been released to drum up some intrest in him, (most prob by his agent, as it funny how thing end up in the press)

Jewell must have a target in mind as a replacement, (I would guess on loan with view to a perminent deal at the end of the season) before he would let Scotland go

Jewell has a set formation in which he likes to play and i guess Scotland does not fit the bill, However any good manager will be able to change the formation to suit players if the need arises.

At the moment we have Priskin as the lone striker and Wickham can join him if we go to 442.If we were to lose Wickham or Priskin to injury etc we could still play a lone striker but to go to 442 we would need to bring Scotland off the bench as the lone striker role i feel is not for him.

Would be interseting to see how he got on now we have Bullard who has a eye for a pass and good with set pieces.

We know that he's no Red Rum, but now that we have a couple of descent suppliers, I wonder how that would affect his game ?
