Former Blues loanee Jimmy Bullard’s situation at Hull City remains unresolved with the midfielder told to continue to stay away from Tigers training. The 32-year-old’s two-week suspension relating to an unspecified incident which took place during a training camp in Slovenia was due to end today.

An investigation into the alleged transgression is ongoing with manager Nigel Pearson anticipating further news in the next few days: "The club will make a statement when it's appropriate on how that will move forward but apart from that I've got nothing more to say. I would expect that this week."

Bullard appears certain to be on his way out of the KC Stadium as a result of the current dispute with the Tigers keen to rid themselves of the remaining two years of the former Wigan and Fulham man’s £45,000-a-week contract.

Earlier in the summer, Blues boss Paul Jewell played down the chances of last season’s Player of the Year returning to the club due to the financial side of doing a deal, although with QPR understood to have cooled in their interest there currently appears no obvious destination for the one-time England call-up.

Is this why PJ hasnt gone out to replace him? as he is playing the waiting game, the longer it goes on, hull will panic more. i can see him coming when the window closes :)

Our best chance, and it's small at that, is Hull pay him off otherwise no-one will be able to afford him unless he seriously changes his view on his worth.

He will probably win that case, but really what do Hull have to lose? As I've said before, JB's going no where except on loan.

DMFHI added 11:46 - Aug 1 Bullard did well for us on loan last season for sure; but needs to be looked at with a bit of trepidation. Not only for his injury history but there are endless stories of his alleged carrying on in Hull, they'll be well happy to see the back of him and not just for the savings on his wages. Apparently the 'transgression" was him pulling up in a cab still out of his head from the night before and when rebuked he squared up to Pearson. Which is ridiculous, in any other job you'd be sacked on the spot. According to stories he's been put on his arse at least twice whilst being the big "I-am" in pubs round town. I like him as a player... but if all this is true and and he starts it all again at our place.... could be more trouble than he's worth??? Gotta be careful; but I guess its all about the money; transfer and wages; versus weighing up the management possible problems... over to you Paul Jewell ;-)

Marcus added 12:19 - Aug 1 If the alleged transgressions are true then perhaps it's understandable considering how badly he's been treated. I know when I'm unhappy at work an after work drink can turn into a night out in a bad mood. Changing jobs can make. A huge difference and can help overcome bad experiences and stop developing bad habits. Perhaps JB just needs a change. However I agree it makes him a high risk players but many of the very top players have volatile moments... Maradona... Gazza... Even ones from out own club Dozzell for sure, Beattie enjoyed a drink and there are many others with stories.

Ebantiass added 12:21 - Aug 1 I have mixed feelings on this one, he obviuosly bought some quaility to the team last season, but he was trying to regain fitting after a long layoff and therefor putting himself in the shop window.If as rumoured regarding turning up for trainig in a state then thats not a good sign. I think he does´nt want to be at Hull but obviously does´nt want to loose out on a fortune. I believe PJ could get the best out of him but I doubt he will be back at PR.

If, then, it did happen - which I think is unlikely since money talks, let's not be naive about this! - it would be a nice surprise. But our view of success in our coming season should not be based on Bullard's presence in or absence from the squad. It's not "make or break."
