![]() Friday, 26th Aug 2011 10:17 The Football League’s latest Agents’ Fees Report reveals that Town spent £376,352 on agents in the year to June 30th 2011, up on the £298,308 spent in the previous 12 months. The £376,352 related to 39 transactions, 12 new registrations, nine updated contracts, 10 cancelled contracts and eight loans. Overall, Football League clubs spent £16.7 million on agents during the 2010/11 season, Championship clubs accounting for £14.1 million (84.6%) of that total. Speaking about clubs' overall spend, Football League chairman Greg Clarke said: "These figures show that a considerable amount of money continues to leave the game through payments to agents. “This highlights the importance of the work Football League clubs are doing to establish a 'break-even' business model across all three divisions. "No one is trying to prevent clubs from paying agents where they feel it is appropriate, however, we must make sure that clubs are not spending money they simply do not have."
