No Loach Enquiry So Far
No Loach Enquiry So Far
Saturday, 2nd Jun 2012 15:59

Town are yet to make an enquiry regarding Watford keeper Scott Loach, according to reports in Hertfordshire. Yesterday, the Blues were reported to be weighing up whether to make a move for Loach, who was an academy schoolboy with Town between 1997 and 2000 before his family moved back to Nottingham where he had been born.

Loach, who last summer said it would be “a dream to play” for his boyhood club one day, fell out of favour at Vicarage Road during 2011/12 with Manchester United’s Tomasz Kuszczak coming in on loan.

Coincidentally, Kuszczak is top of Paul Jewell’s list of potential new keepers but 6ft 4in tall Loach, who is contracted to Watford until June 2013, may well be amongst his alternatives. The former England U21 international will have worked with keeper-coach Malcolm Webster during his time at Playford Road.

In addition to Kuszczak and Loach, the Blues have also been linked with Birmingham's Colin Doyle, although with sources close to the club playing any interest down, and a loan move for Manchester United's Ben Amos, while ex-Aston Villa man Brad Guzan is also believed to be on the list of possible new keepers.

What does ""according to reports in Hertfordshire"" mean?

This could almost be considered a rumoured denial of a story that is a rumour!!!

Please give us some facts when you have them rather than hearsay about hearsay.

walberswick. the best rumour we could hear is that youve gone to support some1 else. youre constant criticisms of everything & every1 is not welcome. either back itfc or go elsewhere. not saying you shouldnt criticise when its warranted but your total negativity is diabolical.

On a completely different topic.

Glad to here that Lambert has done the dirty on Norwich. They deserve it after they encouraged him to do the dirty on Colchester.

He will no doubt jump ship for a bigger vessel as soon as he has the opportunity at Villa!!

I personally enjoy the speculation. The purpose of this board is to comment on it. Some may want Loach to sign - some may not!

Originally I thought Loach would be a good signing - but Watford fans clearly don't rate him. But we need a permanent No. 1 as a priority this pre-season - one who will be here for a number of years. Loach fits the bill IMO.

alan mahon. here we go, soe1 has a go at clegg with no reason for doing so. apart from that thgis story is about the speculation regarding s, loach. dont recall clegg sayin g we trying to sign him. keep on the subjeect instead of like certain others on here(they know who they are), just using every story to have a go at s.c. with no reason to whatsoever. grow up

Yes, this site could just report facts but there wouldn't be stories most days and it would be very quiet. Most of us enjoy the speculation and a chance to comment on players who may or may not join.

For those who prefer confirmed facts, tune into www.itfc.co.uk. Elliott Hewett was first mentioned on there on 30th May, whereas readers of TWTD heard about him on 27th May.

We need a permanent no.1, Scott Loach fits the bill. If the club are interested in approaching him, we as fans need to ignore the Watford fans comments. With proper coaching, he could become a top "keeper.

Friday's report stated, "Town are reported to be considering a move for Watford keeper Scott Loach". This report states, "Town are yet to make an enquiry regarding Watford keeper Scott Loach, according to reports in Hertfordshire".

These are facts.

If you only want to read about players we have signed, look at the BBC website. Some of us are interested in these stories. Keep up the good work, Phil.

Someone should put together a most wanted list with every player we've been linked to with a colour code indicating if it's a rumour, a substantiated link, an approach, an offer and so on.

Fatboy

Not a lot that is reported in the media is 'fact' most of it is concocted by scribes to fill newsprint etc.
