So he clearly has to work with the same players, but perhaps tweak the side a little and get them playing. I think it’s a sensitive balance between managing morale in the squad and not intimating that they’re all sub standard, but also reassuring a few of the senior players that he’s identified a skill gap and will look to correct it. Probably also an element of managing ME’s expectations that he will need to invest in Jan, regardless of what happens between now and then.
