Nice bit of hypocracy by the Tory brexit lot on 11:26 - Dec 13 by Guthrum | She isn't even really that. In any other area of legislation, I doubt May would have any difficulty in getting a Parliamentary majority. Indeed, there is a fair likelihood (partly for reasons beyond anyone's control) that she would win - or, at least, not lose - the next General Election. She is having trouble getting one, extremely tricky, vote through Parliament. That is the sole cause of this rebellion, by people who are ideologically opposed to her (or almost any other) proposed solution. |
She a lame duck PM in a minority government! Now shamefully clinging onto power and wasting time running up to a deadline she won’t meet...

Disagree. In any case, her successor would be in exactly the same situation. If they did surrender to the DUP's blackmail, then the deal with the EU would have to be discarded. Back to square one. A General Election would waste more time and pretty much guarantee another hung Parliament (with the outside chance of a Labour minority government being mathematically possible instead of a Conservative one). If they want a hard Brexit, for which the country is not prepared, they will be punished for damaging the economy down the line.
