Just a thought, but could the PL statements regarding ME and transfers just be a little ruse between the two of them to lower potential transfer fees/wages? Clubs, agents and players must see our “windfalls” coming in and see £££ signs. Maybe these public statements are designed to lower expectations and secure deals on the best financial terms?
