Lambert must go 17:13 - Jan 1 with 3755 viewsr2d2

5 years. Is that Evans sticking his fingers up at the fans? Because it will cost him in the long run. Lambert hasnt a clue what he is doing. He will be gone in 5 months. Evans as football club owner has been clueless for 11 years. We are a sad excuse for a football club nowadays.

Did you mean to ask this gentleman?

I am sure he has said he has refused various approaches over the years, surely not all of them are as bad as him?

My fellow Sir, I am only going on what I thought has been said in various interviews about others showing interests at times. I maybe wrong, but I am pretty sure it has been mentioned once or twice.

But life goes on, We are going to go through non stop hell for however long he owns the club. I feel sorry for the young fans who will never see anything decent from this club During his tenure.

Poll: What % of ST holders saying they won’t renew, will end up renewing regardless?

I’m not aware of any serious bids for the club. What were those?

It wasn’t a forum user, pretty sure it was someone from the club. Maybe one of Evans’ previous minions

The problems actually stem from Burley, Sheepshanks and relegation then administration. Bad decisions made to expose the club to near oblivion which meant that Sheepshanks accepted he needed to sell. In 2007/08, Evans was just what the club needed - he would buy the debt so that it wasn’t owed to third party banks, and inject fairly serious capital into the club. As we know, the successive managers he brought in - with the support of many fans - have failed. The nature of the game changed when the Premiership rights package was renegotiated and Evans’ businesses also hit a downturn in the recession. He decided that he wasn’t able to willing to invest large amounts, but would continue to keep the club going (at £6-10m a year) and give managers some funds. MM was, it is now clear, the reason why the club was able to maintain its Championship status despite having a tight wage budget and little money - but as we know, the football was at times poor and he fell out with the fans. Enter Hurst. Then relegation. Lambert is doing OK.

To blame Evans entirely for this is overly simplistic.

I believe Evans has mentioned it himself. Along the lines of there is often interest. But nothing he feels would benefit the club (or himself, which ever way you want to read it).

There's a piece on this site somewhere but I can't be bothered to look right now.

Maybe Uncle Phil will dig it out if he sees these posts.
