Brexit and FIFA Regulation 19 10:33 - Apr 6 with 557 viewsMoriarty

After Brexit, and the effects of Brexit on free movement, EU players under 18 won’t be able to sign for English clubs.

FIFA Regulation is there to protect players under 18. It bans international transfers of players under 18. There is presently an exemption for under 18s within the EU. That exemption ends for UK clubs after Brexit.

I presume the Premier League will look to negotiate a post Brexit exemption, especially given the finances involved and the hoarding of potential by the bigger clubs.

Would you like to see such an exemption continue after Brexit?

No. No exceptions at all. Leave means leave.

Not even for your nearest and dearest neighbour?

I’ll just hope Lambert signs Neil Farrugia before December then.

Who the f@ck is he, I hear you ask?

One worth a punt (edit he’s actually just over 18 but one I’d like to see here).
