More car buying advice needed 09:25 - Sep 4 with 639 views | CBBlue | Seen some good advice on here recently about buying used cars so thought I'd pick your collective brains. Once upon a time you used to be able to knock the price down quite a bit with a dealer if you weren't part exchanging - is that still the case? Looking to spend about £5-6k on a Ford if that's relevent.

You need to be assertive and be prepared to walk away if you don't get what you want, obviously within reason. For example if you have £5k to spend don't take the piss by haggling over a £10k car but a £6k car is fair game. I got more than I thought from Bury Vauxhall, hardly had to haggle but made a school boy error by giving them my email address. Talk about junk mail☹ï¸
