A draw was probably a fair result but a Brett McGavin (?) 25 yarder sealed the win for Ipswich in the last minute. Lowestoft deservedly took the lead in the first half, before Ipswich had a penalty saved. After the break Ipswich scrambled an equaliser, then as it was heading for a draw, we got the late winner. An entertaining match watched by Terry Butcher in the town dugout. He had put the defence through some practice drills prior to kick-off.
