Any hypothetical pay-off Lambert would get would be the value of his contract, so not really any advantage to giving him a non-job and paying him the same wage.

Don't get me wrong I want him gone. But do we really trust this lot in charge to appoint anyone better?
I think they should pay whatever it takes to get a proper football person in to help with the recruitment of the new manager.
Yes on paper we are a big name for someone but we can not afford to get it wrong again.
We need to go for someone who is used to working with small budget and being able to bring players through.
It's all very well throwing names like Eddie Howe about but it will never happen and moreover I don't want it to. He can't manage a L1 team let alone one with no money!
