Chambers shouldn't get sucked inside as there's no chance of him getting the ball, *especially* as he should be able to see his right-winger is stuck up the pitch. Then once he's been sucked in, he doesn't track the player he's following properly and that player scores.

Jackson should get back quicker, but, realistically, if your right winger is an attacking player occasionally they'll get caught up the pitch. If you give the ball away when they're trying to run in behind they're not going to be able to catch up to their left back going the other way very easily. The defensive players have got to deal with those situations.

Sums it up perfectly. If Chambers must insist on going walkabout to follow 'his man' the bare minimum requirement is that he actually follows him. It would be preferable if he stuck to his position and let the defensive midfielders pick up players straying inside.

I suspect that the Swindon manager saw we were playing an ageing centre half at full back and told his wide player to try to pull him inside to give the full back room to get forward. Full back is the most difficult place to play from a positional point of view. Chambers isn't up to it.
