2022 marks The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and more towns may have city status bestowed upon them. Will Ipswich finally achieve city status in 2022?

No thanks. Ipswich Town FC works perfectly well.

Swansea Town changed their name to Swansea City in 1969, not sure whether there was much opposition at the time but I doubt anyone cares now. I think I'd prefer just Ipswich FC. It would seem slightly over conservative to want to keep the word town forever once it was no longer applicable. Maybe a transtion to a new name after five years or so?
