Someone working for someone I know, who has been on furlough and had their pay topped up out of SOMEONE's OWN MONEY for ONE YEAR, has just booked all of April off *today*, as 'saved up holiday'.

This is one of the 'quirks' of employment law that are intended to make things 'fair' but in reality simply don't make sense. It's a bit like accruing holiday when on parental leave which whilst intended to ensure people on parental leave still have the same benefits as everyone else, is actually rather unfair on everyone else.

I'd certainly be more than a bit pee'd off it I was the business owner in this instance!
