Not long ago I started played golf.
I'm wondering, do many people on this board play?

I play off 18 so somewhere between a hacker and half decent. I would love to play more, most of my friends who played have now gotten into Motocross, which isn't really for me, so I'd be keen.
On a side note, I did arrange a game a couple of weeks back and was shocked how expensive courses were, no winter deals to be had anywhere. I guess golf courses are feeling flush at the moment!
Extra side note and a bit of trumpet blowing, we ended up playing Ufford and I drove the green on a par 4 (admittedly the men's tees had been pushed forward to the ladies, and also admittedly I still only managed a par!) [Post edited 31 Mar 2022 13:29]

Looks nice enough, and cheap for new members. I'm North London based and memberships in my area are £900 - £1400, if they'll accept new golfers at all. I'm ok paying green fees for the odd weekend, but you miss out on the social side of it and it'd be nice to meet a few folk to go around with.
As long as I don't take home the wooden spoon for worst golfer in September it'll all be worth it. |
Just recently joined a new club out here in Houston - that was $10k down to join plus around $1200 per month with booze cart fees etc. having come from the UK where fees are not that high it was quite a shock! | | | |
