One where politicians shout about their actions in the limited scope of literal politics, and the wider scope of reality where politics touches every area of the societal experience but they pretend that’s F’ all to do with them. What is there to vote for now? None of it is fit for purpose, none of it actually addresses any real problems beyond the individual. And the actual problems like this, or climate change, remain ones the public don’t take seriously as the macro is not rammed down their throats like the micros of high energy bills (and even then, the MSM has given the Tories an easy ride for micro issues too in most corners) I’ve tried to stay out of some threads lately because why bother, but it still now feels many proposed solutions from the public are “make MY fuel and oil cheaper with XYZ* and job done”, how do you shake someone out of sleepwalking to their own demise whilst dragging us along? For clarity, “XYZ” was used as an example of what someone says and is no reference to the actual poster XYZ lol. [Post edited 22 May 2022 15:36]
