First time since my first season ticket in 1994/95 that thought about given up,

I have never ever question it other than the journey home on train that night,

I think the steward on the way out the ground told me that there was only 8000 actually in attendance

We have had to some hardship since then but in the long run the club is set up for many years of success.

We’re still in League One and haven’t finished above ninth in the third tier since relegation.

Whilst the future looks promising, driving out the most successful manager we’ve had post Royle, and the manner of how it was done, isn’t a cause for mocking or celebration.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

The guy out stood his welcome. Fantastic first three years, dreadful last three years

He was a major part of the problem didn’t care, didn’t challenge evans, picked up his money. Every game the oppositions we’re treated like Real Madrid. No cup runs at all. Go back to that soulless existinence of club if you want, The average crowds we are getting now would never happened under that regime

Cardiff we’re lucky they had his tenure over the course of 6 months rather than 6 years.

One of his ex players perfectly sums up Mick McCarthy

If only 8000 were in the ground then today we’re getting almost 20,000 (TWENTY THOUSAND) more.

In the division below.

I think it’s perfect cause for mocking actually.

Let’s see if we actually move forward before celebrating. The club is in a better place off the pitch - we’re a distance away from saying the same thing on it. We finished 12th in the tier above in the last season where Mick spent the majority of time in charge and, heading into the painful double header of Sheffield United and Hull, had hopes for a late play off bid.

It was time for Mick to go. I think maybe he has outstayed his time in football and his basic tactical approach has been found out. But mocking and crowing about it now based purely on attendance? Pride before a fall.

It was.

But there has been no proof on the pitch that things have improved since then.

At least it was in the second division.

The town is buzzing today and it’s great but relegation was sh1t and we need to get back up.
